Just got re-re-re enroiled into eis AGAIN
Opted out when first opted in.
Opted out when first improved and again opted in.
JUST replied on board about now wanting eis
And now get this:
'eBay International Shipping is now displayed on your eligible listings'
'...let you know that eBay International Shipping is now displayed as an option on your eligible listings, in addition to your current shipping methods.'
Forget about the fact that - as of now - none of our listings show eis, and the shipping preferences page still shows not enrolled, so if we can still turn it off we have to wait till they show it turned on - and they took away the box saying 'pick it, pick eis' from the sold and active pages.
IF ebay had changed those boxes to say 'now offer eis and others' MAYBE we would think about it, if we could make it the second option.

OP2 years agoWell it appears that from what the 'shipping team' posted on another post about this subject - "Just Great, Ebay just sent email notifying International Shipping on all my Listings" - that the 'you're been enrolled' messages was just another oops that was intended for "sellers who are already enrolled in eBay International Shipping and also offer self-ship options."
So basically it was to tell sellers that already had it set up to show both, that they already had it set up to show both.
And the response on the above named post from the shipping team should be posted and pinned on it's own on both the shipping board - and as 'shipping' is an integral part of selling, also on the main board that most people go to, the selling board.

·2 years agoI have been confused by this as well on my listings. I'm enrolled and then I'm not. I'm enrolled and then I'm not. I'm not even receiving any emails about it. I have been wondering what is going on.

One of the original main reasons we didn't want to use eis is - not that 'we' seller care - It's only better for the seller.
If a buyer uses any freight forwarding service - which again is what eis is, it costs the buyer more money - but it's one thing if they choose to use a FF - in this case the buyer has no choice in the matter - if they want the item they must pay more . Or if smart and lucky just pick a cheaper one
I never buy the $7.00 milk at the gas station.

You can actually setup alternative shipping options for the buyer under EIS. If you, as the seller, want to ship directly and bear the risks and do the research on the import restrictions associated with doing so you can. In fact for items that EIS will not process through their program for various reasons you have to do so or the international buyer will see a message indicating that you have no specified a shipping method.

·2 years agoI left EIS enrolled. I view the risk worth the reward (cause I'm broke and toopid).
Broke "mainly" due to search manipulation.
Toopid cause I don't know what to do about it.
But, with declining U.S. sales, I'll just about take sales anywhere I can. Even with the greater risk of problems

If you read up on the EIS program your risk with international sales under EIS is less than it is with domestic sales.

·2 years agoYour most recent listing dates from Jan. 25 and does not show eIS as an option, so if they did implement it for you, it must have been after that date. I don't think that they would make a blanket addition to existing listings, just new ones yet to be uploaded. (I may be wrong on that, since it's their site to mess around with however they like.)
I also suspect that they sent that announcement out in bulk, so not everyone receiving it (such as yourself) may actually have it activated yet.

OP2 years agoWe start all listing on Thursdays so auctions all end same day, so the 25th is right.
To the people who used eis from the start -
We thought that when it started it was eis as only option - correct?
But now from what the messages says - "...eBay International Shipping is now displayed as an option on your eligible listings, in addition to your current shipping methods. - it seems that you can have other international options ... though it doesn't say 'in addition ... current international shipping ...' Again, if we could make it the second option then maybe.

·2 years agoI'm not sure what's going on with eBay International Shipping. I am also opted out. I received the email saying that eligible listings would now have the IS option. I checked my listings and it's not listed as an option.
As a buyer, I hate eBay International Shipping because it is absurdly expensive and slow. So, as a seller, I don't offer it on my listings. I ship most international items by USPS First Class International, which is much cheaper and faster. I might consider using eBay's shipping on high-value items, but we don't have the option to opt in by listing.

·2 years agoIt seems like here it says you do have a listing-by-listing opt-out:
If there’s an item you don’t want to sell internationally, you can manage your listing settings.
Or opt out completely:
To opt out of all the program benefits on all your listings, unenroll from eBay International Shipping.
Haven't explored it beyond that - I opted in and just left it. I don't think the World is going to beat a path to my little listings but whatever. I can always opt out and just ship internationally myself but see no reason to at this time as it comes up so seldom.

·2 years agoGuess eBay also working on being able to opt in or opt out of any listing towards eIS, so maybe a programmer snafu... They do happen, I am a programma'.
I remember running an application I was coding up and typing in all wrong values to test and the next thing I know like 10 seconds later I hear on the TV we'd invaded Iraq. Yep! No lie!
eIS is really good you might want consider it. I've shipped handfuls of order via it and its been flawless.
