Ive always used ebay's international shipping hub, now I am being prompted to enter a tariff code
I have been using eBay's international shipping hub, and it has always been seamless and easy. Today, I have an order (LP) and instead of sending it to Illinois and then to the buyer, I see a PSC address, and it's asking me to enter a tariff code. Â
Is this happening because it's a military address? If it's something beyond my control, fair enough. But if I did or changed something that required the tariff code, I would like to figure that out, because I prefer to ship internationally only the easy, seamless way. I just don't need another layer of complexity added to the process.Â
Â
Anyone know of something I could have done incorrectly during the listing?

·4 months agoYes, that is why it's happening. It's quite normal now for a Postal Service Center APO/FPO, etc., Address to require a Customs Declaration. USPS implemented that in 2024. Nothing you did really, just part of the criteria for sending it to a Military/Diplomatic Address. Â

·4 months agoLast shipment we had going over seas to a US Base, we just left that tariff code blank and shipped it. It arrived fine. I'm not saying that is the correct way to do it, but it's the way I did it

·4 months agoI would like to add International craft items to my inventory as well as allow international sales. That used to be done easily but I guess times have changed.

·4 months agoThat's only for 'commercial senders'. It should ship direct since the 5 digit zip is a US Base. If you cannot get around it' take to post office, purchase label there and then input tracking when you return.Â
The label did have a place to 'sign and date' and I did (similar to the old 'customs' forms I used when I used to ship direct worldwide).Â

I had a Military sale not long ago; had to 'fill out' some info also, but not a 'Tarriff code'. I ship all 'international' using EIS also, but this sale did NOT use them since a US Military Base is considered 'US'). The zip showed (after googling) was going to Japan.Â
