Item exclusions from ebay international shipping
Before eBay got rid of the previous global shipping program, we were sending headlights, grilles, trims, etc. with the program. However this new program now excludes everything we sell for some reason. I looked under exclusions in EIS and every used part is now excluded from being shipped in the program, does anyone know if they plan on fixxing this and making it so used parts can be shipped too? It's annoying that they suddenly change a working system and then add things to be excluded that were never an issue in the old program. We are losing a significant amount of business as a result of this.

·3 years agoOn another note- they are working on eliminating the items that would NOT have any 'petroleum based residue' on 'used parts'- but that's going to take a while.
As stated by @buyselljack2016 - everyone is being 'phased' into EIS and GSP is being completely phased out.

OP3 years agoThat's really frustrating. Don't get why they didn't just adopt the system of GSP with the restrictions and had to do their own thing.

Money loser. When a restricted item hit the hub the buyer was refunded (by eBay), and the seller got to keep the payment.
Item was not returned. eBay (or PB) did what they could with the item to recover some of the money.

OP3 years agoNone of our items shipped with GSP ever had an issue with residue but now with EIS we have to wait indefinitely for them to fix this

Jump into something before it is ready for "prime time". Let the chips fall where they may, and try to pick up the pieces to salvage the operation.
They jump in without assessing/understanding the overall impact to the seller's, and eBay's "bottom line" in loss of fees, and buyer dissatisfaction.

·3 years agoBecause GSP was doing it wrong; doing it 'illegally' and when an item DID have some type of obvious petroleum residue, i.e. a 'leakage'- GSP threw the item away, refunded the customer and TOOK the money from the seller. No item back to the seller. That 'leakage' is a problem with air freight, as is perfumes and any other item that may have a 'flamable' liquid in it, that is used.
Batteries are the same- must go 'ground' etc.
This way, with EIS, at least they aren't allowing it for a seller to get minus dollars and no product returned.

·3 years agoFor those switched to EIS there is no "go back" to GSP. GSP is being phased out.
Hopefully they will get what ever " bee is in their bonnet" about shipping used auto parts resolved, but in the meantime it seem the at the "opt out" is the a way to keep selling.
Have read that part of it is the "used grease/oil" on parts that would cause restrictions. eBay has yet to code to know the difference in such parts.
In the past, GSP took care of restrictions at the hub. EIS is doing it before selling. They have much work to do.
