Item delivered, tracking numbers don’t match
Okay so I listed a game on eBay, it sold very fast, the buyer paid for the shipping label, when I went to ship it they gave me a new tracking number different than the one the label had that the buyer paid for, so I checked if the game he bought got delivered, and it did. On eBay it still says usps is waiting for the item even though it already got delivered and I have proof but because the tracking numbers are different I can’t get paid please someone help me I really need it

·9 months agoGo to your Label Management screen and attempt to void the eBay label. If the eBay label never got a scan, you might be eligible for a refund. You may have missed the deadline at this point.

Go to Manage All Orders screen. Click on + Add tracking and enter the tracking number from the USPS. That might get the payment released to you. Since this is after the fact, the payment hold may last for 30 days or more.

Go to your Items Awaiting Shipment screen in the future. You can print the label. Otherwise get a QR code you can show the postal worker so they can print the label for you.

·9 months agoeBay doesn’t provide prepaid shipping labels.
When you select “Buyer paysâ€, that means the buyer pays for shipping on top of item price and sales tax, and you used those funds to purchase a shipping label.
The label you say you got from eBay wasn’t prepaid, you paid it from your proceeds from the sale. That generated a tracking number. When you went to the post office and bought another label, you got another tracking number. But you essentially bought and paid for two labels.

·9 months agoWe are missing something here....buyers, as said, do not purchase shipping labels. Did the OP print out a label on eBay and then not use it? Then went to the USPS and bought another one and shipped with that label? If so, cancel the label in the eBay system to get refunded, the buyer did not buy any label, they just paid you to buy it. If you don't cancel it, you will be charged for it! Then add that tracking # for the second label you used to ship the item.
Go to "orders" & the item under "awaiting shipment" find your item and add the tracking number.

·9 months agoAll very confusing. "Buyer" bought a label, How did the seller get that label?
Then when the seller went to PO, Bought a second label.

OP9 months agothe funds are showing up on my eBay account, there just on hold because it says “within 3 days of item being delivered†but the issue is the item says it was never delivered because the tracking number on eBay doesn’t match with the tracking number that the PO gave me on the label when I shipped it. You said these numbers are not supposed to match?
dirk12955
·9 months agoThe buyer bought his own label?
And, You bought a second label at your PO?
No way in the world for them to match. Not possible,

·9 months agoHere is what I think happened:
The only way for eBay to have a tracking number attached to a transaction on eBay is if the seller puts it there - by either purchasing a label through eBay, or by manually entering it on the transaction. The buyer cannot put a tracking number on a seller's transaction.

·9 months ago^^ This is how I read the OP off the bat.
What you need to do @jelan-36 :
1. Go to the transaction and add or edit tracking, then on the pop up enter the tracking number you got at the post office.
2. Cancel the label you purchased on eBay.
To cancel a shipping label purchased through eBay, go to this page, find the order and select Cancel from the Actions drop-down. The cancel option is available for 28 days.
It takes between 2-4 weeks to receive a refund on an unused, voided label as the carrier wants to make sure the label isn't used. You'll see the refund on your original source of payment (eBay funds, bank, credit card, etc) and the funds will appear in your account without an email notification.

OP9 months agoWhen I listed the item one of the options was the buyer pays for shipping so it was already made when he bought the game/item but when I went to usps they gave me a new tracking number for some reason
dirk12955
·9 months ago1) The buyer pays you for the game plus $$ for shipping.
2) You (The seller) pays for the label with the $$ the buyer paid you for shipping.
Normally it's very easy and problem free

OP9 months agoYes sorry to clarify this is the first item I have ever sold on eBay, he paid for the label but the tracking number did not match because I went to usps and they gave me a new tracking number for a new label I guess even though he already made it, my main question is can I still get paid when the tracking numbers don’t match on accident even though he received the item?

·9 months agoBuyers don’t make labels. They simply pay you the amount shown on the listing. You are the only one who ever purchases a shipping label for an item you sell.
If you did not put in the tracking number for the label you used, go to the order details page and do so.
There is no tracking number from the buyer. That’s not how it works.
dirk12955
·9 months agoThe buyer bought lable #1 and
you bought label #2 and the #s
of course would not match.
Why would they?
Do you have both tracking #s ? His and yours?
jelan-36
OP9 months agoI have both the tracking numbers

·9 months agoI think you fundamentally misunderstand what "buyer pays shipping" means.
This means that eBay charges the buyer the shipping amount that you put on the listing, that money comes to your through the eBay payment, and you use that money to buy the shipping label.
