Is it not possible to return item listed as "for part/not working"?
I bought a phone which is listed as "for parts/not working" from one buyer. The only major defect listed on the description is the fact that the phone is in safe mode. Others are minor cosmetic wear and tear. However, when I received the phone, it has another defect which is the faulty volume button. I tried to contact the seller about this and he already knew about this problem but he said since it was listed as "for parts/not working", it can be assumed that other part might not work as well, therefore I cannot return this phone.
Is this true that buyer cannot return "for parts/not working" item even if the description doesn't state the defect? And if yes, what can I do?

If you bought something that was clearly listed as "for parts, not working," why would you expect to return it?

What you can do is try to fix it yourself, resell it again "for parts, not working" and understand that if you buy an item listed as "not working," expect the worst and hope for the best.

·2 years agoNot working is not working. In many cases a seller could not even know the extent of the problem without making repairs. No way to try everything if it's not working. There is some risk making that kind of purchase. Unless the price is low, might not be worth it.

Because its not working...the seller wouldn't know all the defects.

·2 years agoFor parts or not working means you bought something NOT WORKING and you can repair if you can figure out what's wrong with it. The seller doesn't need to know what all is wrong with it or what it will take to fix it. If it doesn't fully function then it goes into the category parts or not working.
You bought a broken phone. Does it fit the description of a broken or not working phone?
Then you got what was described and if the seller doesn't accept returns as their return policy then you keep the phone.
