Is IMB Tracking Sufficient for eBay Seller Protection?
Hi, I use IMB tracking when shipping items that fit in PWE on eBay. One issue I’m having however is that even though the tracking is showing up on apps like Ashwood data they’re not showing up on eBay when under USPS IMB tracking. Has anyone else had this issue? I’m using TCGTRACKER to create them and was wondering if there was a way I could let buyers also view tracking.

·1 month agoeBay's system will only accept their own ESE tracking numbers (which are an abstraction of IMB), it won't take IMB directly. (This is a huge problem for those who mail large envelopes, leaving us with zero options for eBay approved tracking.)
I'd just use ESE for your cards here.

·1 month ago · EditedA kludge is a kludge, and this tracking is not helping to keep FCM alive because of the fundamental issues with letter sorting equipment.
The likelihood of USPS buying any new sorters for letter is zero, the likelihood of investing any more in IMB tracking improvements is zero.
Ebay is not going to invest any money in protecting sellers who are using another service to reduce the FVFs Ebay collects.

·1 month agoThere is no reason for eBay to integrate other IMB tracking services because they have 'eBay Standard Envelope' for that. Not sure why you wouldn't just use that since it's cheaper.
BTW all those "gold" Pokemon cards you have for sale are fakes..

OP1 month agoThey’re fan art cards and the IMB tracking I use is free?

·1 month agoYou pay for the stamp and insurance with tcgtrack. ESE is cheaper than a stamp and includes the insurance. Though the up to $50 insurance you get with tcgt would be nice. Either way anything else may as well be untracked as far as eBay is concerned.

·1 month agoYou should be aware that you have announced on an open forum that you are offering counterfeit Pokemon cards.
Your fan art explanation is of no legal weight, and you need to decide whether those cards are worth your ability to sell on Ebay if some vigilante chooses to contact then rightsholder.
