International shipping returned
I recently had two items that went internationally returned. I had the shipping invoice tape to the outside of the box. It appears to be returned from the hub unopened. Am I not supposed to have anything on the outside of the box? Do I need the buyer to open a claim so I can find out any information? Do I try sending again?

OP1 year agoI have read these, and this is the only two that wasn't followed, You are required to include an order packing slip in the package;
and the dimensions being off

·1 year agoYou said the packaged appeared to be unopened. In this case they would not know if you had put a package slip inside it or not.

·1 year agoMy understanding is that the hub does scan or x-ray incoming packages, @stephenmorgan.
Thanks for clarifying that you did go through the Terms and Conditions, @spellbo22.

OP1 year agoI did notice that I have package listed as 12x12x4 when it should be 14x14x5. Could this be a reason?

·1 year ago@spellbo22 is having their merchandise forwarded through eBay International Shipping, @stephenmorgan, so editing the listings' dimensions won't make any difference on the listing level to the shipping method, although it could make a difference to the price.
The incorrect dimensions could be a reason that the 78s got kicked back, though. 12" / 30 cm could be a "golden number" which could make all the difference between two different shipping categories by whatever carrier is getting the 78s to Europe, or it might just push the packages into a higher price bracket which the buyers didn't get charged for by eIS.
@spellbo22, I strongly urge you to skim through the Seller Terms and Conditions page for eIS that I linked to in my earlier post, particularly the "program rules" and section on ineligible items. I'm concerned that you seem to be flying blind here with your use of eIS.

OP1 year agoOne was to Germany, one to Netherlands. The packages were not opened in any way. The tracking provided only back from the hub. It appears it went there, and by dates right back to me. Yes, 78's. It was to different orders. I do know the weights were correct.
So this sounds like I need to have the buyers open a refund case?

·1 year agoI think you can just cancel and refund the order on your own with Problem With Address.

·1 year agoOh, you asked about resending the items. I wouldn’t do that without a new sale associated with the items, which means refunding the buyer and having them repurchase. I suspect that the reference numbers to the sales have been cleared out or invalidated on the hub’s end and resending the items without this information would make things very messy.
Just for clarification: Was the sale for two listings and you shipped in one package?

·1 year agoAccording to the eBay International Shipping terms and conditions for sellers, a packing slip is supposed to be included inside the box in which the item is shipped. I’m not sure if having an invoice secured outside the box is enough reason to have the package returned, but if you check the T&C, you’ll find other reasons why eIS may not forward the item.
Also consider that there might have been information in the items’ titles or item specifics that were misinterpreted by a computer program used by eIS.
Any idea where the items (78s?) were heading? Location might be a factor here.
Finally, check the tracking information from the second tracking number assigned to the items. (You might be able to get it by looking up the tracking on Parcelsapp for the shipment to the hub if you don’t have it.) There may be a clue there.
Keep us posted on this mystery!

·1 year agoSo there was no reason given for the items being returned? Does it say anything on the box or if there is a label? Did you give the correct weight and dimensions? I wouldn't try to send them again until you figure out the reason behind the return. You might want to call Ebay and talk to an agent about why the packages were returned.
