International - Freight forwarding from Miami

    Good Morning Community

I was wondering if it is safe to ship to a buyer who uses a USA-based freight forwarder out of Miami.

    1. Once my package is tracked and successfully delivered is my responsibility as a seller completed?

    2. Should I spend the $ for a signature as well as traditional tracking?

    3. Or should I cancel with "Address problems"?

    Thank you.

2 months ago I would say its not a problem.

Then I got a buyer from China using a FF. They had glowing feedback and left the same positives for items bought.

So I shipped. Tracking shows delivered.

Buyer files a CC charge back with their credit card. Dont recognize the purchase.

I gather all the document with tracking showing delivered and submit it.

2 weeks later, eBay makes the buyer NARU and I get the unhelpful email to not ship to them because eBay has removed them as a user here.

I wont ever ship to a FF again and its not about the cost of the item. I wont sell anything I cant afford to give away here anyway.

I wont do it because of the hassle.

I always use UPS Ground as the carrier to a freight forwarder. Unlike USPS, UPS will assuredly provide a delivered scan.

If it is expensive, I add a signature required.

The buyer can still file a return case within 30 days of the delivery date to the freight forwarder.

At that point, you could accept the return and provide a return shipping label from forwarder back to you.

    @discountgalorenv

That particular post office has had numerous complaints regarding USPS not providing an initial tracking scan, with foreign buyers making multiple INR claims.

A few months ago, I had a similar buyer (with ZERO feedback!) from a foreign country, attempting to purchase a rather pricey item from me.  After Googling the freight forwarding address, I discovered several negative reviews about that particular post office; and, instead of shipping the item, chose instead to cancel the transaction, using the excuse "problem with buyer's address," which is true.

The buyer accepted the cancelation, and my account was not harmed.

Unless things at that post office have changed drastically, I would not ship through Miami-Dade.

Good advice from everyone on this thread.

It is important to understand account defects and try your best to keep them to a minimum. As others have stated as well, if you can't afford to lose the item sold, don't list it.

Keep listing items and good luck.
