intentional non delivery of package by usps
I ordered an item on ebay. A delivery"attempt" was made on Saturday they left a note saying we were closed and they would attempt again. We are open 7 days a week and have been here for 28 years and have a mail box it could have been put in. Thursday still no package so I filed a complaint with USPS. Friday local post office called and said we tried and you were closed. Sunday I went to work an unlocked the front door. While at my computer I got a delivery notice. I went out and the package was in front of the door to the side. We were here and the door was unlocked. They could have done that on the first delivery attempt and no further attempts were made until I filed a complaint.

OP8 months agoThe immediate problem was resolved. I got my package. I was merely pointing out the errors of USPS. If their standard policy is to leave a note and then wait for you they shouldn’t leave a note that says we will attempt again. The fact that they only delivered the package once I filed a complaint to me, says that it would have never been delivered if I did not file a complaint. I know there is a lot of anti-non-American sentiment going around. I’m wondering if someone at the post office is expressing that by not delivering eBay packages or are they too lazy to do their job. I don’t know. I was merely pointing out the lack of service by USPS

·8 months agoHmmm... maybe filing the complaint 'jump-started' your delivery. Who knows? Glad you got your package.

·8 months agoThat first delivery attempt sounds like an after-hours arrival (I mean, they had to be there in order to leave the note) where they did not want to leave the package outside. What hours are you open on Saturday? Presumably you found the note after closing time on Saturday and before opening time on Sunday?
That aside, standard practice at our PO is to make one delivery attempt and then leave a pickup note after that, assuming that they don't want to leave the package outside for some reason.
