Increased charge on stated shipping?
I noticed on all my orders this week the after charge on the label was more than what it said it would cost, nowhere does it state exactly why the price goes up after either?

Do you see 2 labels generated for that same transaction? If you do, void the label that you did not use.
To void a shipping label purchased through eBay, go to this page, find the order and select Cancel from the Actions drop-down. The void option is available for 28 days.
It takes between 2-4 weeks to receive a refund on an unused, voided label. You'll see the refund on your original source of payment (eBay funds, bank, credit card, etc) and the funds will appear in your account without an email notification.

Seller price being exactly double to what buyer paid.

·2 years agoIt happens to me all the time. I have double checked everything. Been selling for around 20 years on eBay, so I know how shipping works. Today was something silly but really annoyed me. Item under $5. I had the weight as 3 oz, dimensions as a large envelope. Changed nothing when I purchased the label - Customer was charged $2.39. I was charged over $4. I checked pirate shi and other services. There were ZERO options for under $4. Sold a large studio light a few weeks ago. 30x20x20, 12 pounds. Again, changed nothing - $35 cost difference. I called eBay - they could not explain it.

OP2 years agoThis just started happening to me this week with all the packages that went out, took me a bit to notice after counting.
Just adding all of it together is a lot of money and it made me worried with how much I lost with this sudden shipping addition. Its deceptive that the purchasing price for the labels are incredibly wrong, especially with low ticket items.

First class large envelope is not a parcel service and does not have tracking. eBay doesn't offer labels for that service so you would have to use stamps if the package qualified. You probably purchased a ground advantage label which is a parcel service with tracking.
I'm not sure what happened with the other package but when you do run into problems like that it is a good idea to post the particulars on the board as some posters here are quite good at figuring out happened.

OP2 years agoIt was USPS priority, I bought the label from ebay the receipt for it even says it was $17.17, same when I was purchasing it.

The bottom number is what you actually had to pay for the label from the shipping page.
If both pages (listing and shipping) had the SAME parameters (weight and dimensions) the numbers should be identical, so, obviously, something was entered erroneously.
Note: The 17.17 charge to the buyer was a zone 9 rate calculated from the listing parameters...
did you make sure the shipping parameters were correct when you printed the label? (carrier, weight,class, dimensions, etc...)

OP2 years agoEverything was entered correctly and I purchased it from ebay, when I did it stated it was going to be 17.17, the receipt says the same.

·2 years agoConsidering the price is doubled, did you accidentally purchase a label twice? I'd go and check that you don't have two active labels for it. If you do, void one of them!

·2 years agoSince it is doubled, it seems doubtful it's some kind of hidden fee or a shipping cost increase that hasn't been updated. I'd either contact eBay or the USPS regarding this. It sounds like there's some kind of error somewhere that needs to be fixed for this specific case, whether it's on eBay's end that you can't see or USPS. $17.17 extra is a lot of money to lose. I hope you're able to figure out what's going on and get it taken care of.

·2 years agoThe calculator is quite accurate and there usually is an explainable reason why a different cost happens.
In this particular case, could you please give the zip code that the package was going to. The weight and package dimensions and someone may be able to figure out the problem.
Another poster asked you if you are sure you didn't accidentally make two labels for the same item. Did you check that?

·2 years agoMy guess is that they offered the customer 1st class mail as an option but that was not an option I was able to select. Why even do that?

·2 years agoFirst class large envelope is the second service that you can see under standard services. It is possible that you used it as an option on another listing at one time and it got carried over when you did a 'sell similar'.
I have never heard of or seen eBay offer an option on the listing that the seller hadn't offered.

·2 years agoWhy? Because you do not have to ship with an eBay tracked label. If it was not "offered" then we would see sellers posting how eBay won't let them sell something tobe shipped in a large envelope
