Important infos from buyer not showing
I miss a very important feature during sellings:
The email address of buyer is not showing on sold item page. The email address can be very important for shipping notifications from the carrier side. My carrier need the email address from the receiver, otherwise I cannot proceed shipping. I have to ask the buyer every time to send me the email address seperate which can take time and delays on deliveries.
The email address and phone number are missed on email notifications of sold item too. Email address and phone number should be shown in the sold items page and email notification.
It is easy to implement this for your programmers and indispensable for smooth workflow

·6 months agoThe Op creates customized sill plate decals to customer specifications. I could have him/her create some that says KrazzyKats for my mustang if I wanted....lol!
They are not OEM decals.

·6 months agoThat is the point - yes. If the OP is going to go selling SALEEN sill plates (say that three times fast 😄) of his own creation then he needs to own the rights to reproduce the SALEEN logo. If Saleen has not granted those rights then the OP may have a problem.
As to the original topic: here in the US we can just look at the Order Details page to see an email or phone number for the buyer. The encrypted form of the original buyer email address does work for outside senders to get a message to the buyer. (I prefer to just take my tracking number direct to the carrier website and plug it in there. I usually also find an option there for the carrier to send future updates direct to an email address if desired.
The OP is in Germany so perhaps his user interface is not quite the same as ours.

·6 months agoBut time has changed and almost every shipping step can be received by email notification. Thats actually what a buyer wants. Also most forwarders request the email address of the receiver. Without it it is impossible to create shipping labels. Very important feature for international shippings.
If these things are so sensitive, let the ebay user choose to share them with the seller or not. Ebay should not make the decision

·6 months agoEbay already gives you an "alias" email to use.
The reason for not providing real email addresses is to discourage sellers from sidestepping ebay to avoid selling fees. And privacy reasons too.

·6 months agoNonsense, because the buyers informations are displayed after the purchase. The phone number is also displayed and it can be used to text him by WhatsApp which I did several times to ask for the email address for shipment notification purposes.
As I mentioned, time has changed and some nowadays services did not exists 20 years ago when ebay was created!!

·6 months agoNot every customers wants updates, some moan about constant tracking updates, I set up an email address specially for updates which I enter for all shipments so I get the updates and not the buyer, the tracking number is loaded into ebay so if they want to check it the can log into to ebay and look, the main reason I want all the updates is to stop fraud by redirection.

·6 months agoThat information is considered sensitive and is not provided through email notification. You can view phone number on the "order detail page>Order" Click "show contact information." I believe Ebay has hidden email addresses. You can purchase a label through Ebay.

·6 months agoWhen they first starter doing ebay email addresses I was told by customer service not to give them to carriers.
When US tariffs started I was told I could invoice buyers through paypal using there ebay emails to get the tariffs paid because we have to ship tariffs paid
Standard ebay customer service prevails............
