I sold an item, tracking showed delivered, customer says they never received
I sold an item, seller claims it was not received. She says it should have been delivered to her mailbox and not her porch (which is what the tracking says) I have refunded her money, but wanted to file a claim with USPS (she did try, but they told her since she wasn't the shipper she could not file) My post office says I have to file with Ebay, but I cannot find the spot that Ebay's bot says is under shipping. How do I get ebay to call me or give me a human to help me walk through this in real time? Too many times I have terrible internet and when I think I am making progress, I get knocked offline.

·5 months agoWhy did you refund? You would have won a case on eBay and there is nothing to file.

·5 months agoTo resolve it, you respond to the INR case and update the tracking number and submit it.
Ebay would close the case in your favor.

"she opened an item not received case. Ebay told me to resolve it."
The correct method to "resolve it" was to fill in the USPS Tracking number on the email supplied by eBay -- not by refunding the buyer, and hoping that USPS would solve the problem for you.
Once the USPS Tracking number has been confirmed by eBay, you (the seller) would be off the hook for any refund.
But now -- nothing for either USPS or eBay to resolve.

Since USPS has reported that the package was delivered, there is no case for non-delivery.
You should not have refunded your buyer until your buyer opened up an "item not received" case -- which you would have won, by the way, since the tracking shows as delivered.
Unfortunately, neither eBay nor USPS can assist you.

·5 months agoIf tracking showed it was delivered, there was no reason for you to refund the buyer.
Since USPS says they delivered it, they'll deny an insurance claim.
If it was stolen after delivery, that's on the buyer.

·5 months agoWell once the tracking number states delivered you as the seller would win the case because Ebay goes by tracking. You made the mistake by refunding the buyer. So once you refunded the buyer that's pretty much over with. USPS will not cover you for an item which states delivered as lost. Having Ebay contact you will be a waste of time. You refunded the buyer. Case is closed. They stated that prior to the refund and you agreed. Lesson learned.
