I sent a package via FedEx SmartPost ground parcel. It got stuck with FedEx. How do I file a claim?
I sent a package via FedEx SmartPost ground parcel. It got stuck in transit at a FedEx facility. The system says that I called before and that my package did not move since then.
The package was shipped on 24 March. As of 4 April, it is sitting in a Maryland Fedex facility.
I tried to file a missing package claim online, but Fedex says the following:
Smart Post
The tracking number that you entered is for a FedEx SmartPost shipment. Only the company that shipped you this package can file a claim on it, and the claim cannot be submitted online. If you are the shipper, please refer to filing instructions at fedex.com/us/smartpostguide and select 'Tutorials'.
I tried to call Fedex customers service - no luck. The automated system can see my tracking and it keeps saying that my package is in transit. It says that it knows that I called before, but my package did not move since then. The automated system would not transfer me to a live person.
Should I file a complaint with BBB ? Any chance eBay customer service can help with the claim of the missing package?
Any ideas - how do I file a missing package claim?

·10 months agoThere’s a good chance FedEx handed your item to USPS, since they handle the final delivery. USPS may have held it and labeled it as an unpaid package, which is exactly what happened with two of my packages that I (unfortunately) sent via FedEx SmartPost.
If you still have the tracking number, go to the USPS website, add “92†to the beginning of the tracking number, and you should get an update. From there, you might have a chance to file a claim, but keep in mind they have a 90-day policy—so it may be too late. In that case, try filing through eBay.
This happened with my two items as well. For some miracle reason, one of them was delivered three months later to my buyer. She was such a kind person and let me know it had arrived—I had already given up hope and wasn’t even checking anymore. Now I’m dealing with eBay to get the strikes removed from my account, though that seems difficult.
If anyone has advice, please feel free to reply.
Good luck!

·11 months agoIf you have the same thing going on now, given the date on the original message, may I humbly suggest that you start your own new thread, giving all the details you can possibly offer? Keep in mind, please, that dates will be important and an item # may help also.

·1 year agoThis is a FedEx matter that you need to take up with FedEx.
Filing a complaint with the BBB will do absolutely nothing.

What was the final destination? There has been many weather related issues over the past week or two, bad storms and lots of flooding.
You can see the instructions for filing a FedEx claim here:

OP1 year agoThe final destination is in Maryland. It is 1-2 hours of driving from my home in Virginia.
How many days should I wait?
If I fill out the Fedex Excel form - then what do I do with it?

·1 year agoI just filled out a Fedex Excel form and you have to select the highlighted 'share' in the upper right corner. But first save it. Then open the downloaded document, which should now show the info you filled out. It will then ask if you want to use your specific email. Email to FGEClaims@fedex.com
I was using a MacPro computer.
