I have a complaint against ebay. I want my postal charges and related charges refunded
I shipped a package USPS using ebay shipping label and insurance. I checked the tracking everyday and the package never left New York. The customer was in Ca. Finally after a week the package was returned to me. I want Ebay to refund insurance and any charges related to them.

·1 year agoCan you fill in the big piece that's missing here @shyk - why was the package returned to you?
What does tracking say?
Are there stickers or markings on the returned package? What do they say?

·1 year agoWhy would you have a complaint against Ebay, they didn't return your item.
The shipping label was used so there won't be any refund for it.
Apparently the buyers address was either insufficient or they moved. You received your item back.
You have no way of knowing that the package didn't get to California, many postal carriers don't scan labels.
If you were able to file an insurance claim you would need to do it through the shipping service you chose, USPS. Again, since you received the item back there is no insurance claim to be made.
There is no refunds on shipping labels that are used.
Any refund should be going to the buyer minus original shipping, you shouldn't keep both the item and the buyers money.

OP1 year agoCorrect address and the buyer chose the PO. But I paid directly to Ebay, Ebay takes a percentage so it is Ebay's responsibility to refund.

·1 year agoYou chose the carrier or allowed your customer to choose the carrier- ebay did NOT choose for you so....
It simply doesn't work that way. Ebay is not going to refund you anything. Your beef is with USPS.
But, you can 'want' all you want.

·1 year agoIf the buyers address was correct, your problem is with USPS.
No, USPS don't refund on used shipping labels.
No, it's not Ebay's responsibility to refund.
You obviously don't know how shipping works
You purchased a USPS label on eBay
USPS gets those funds that you paid. NOT eBay where do you get that eBay takes a percentage?
Show some documented proof.
It is NOT eBay's responsibility to refund. That comment is absurd.

You've posted on a Community board made up of buyers and sellers, so no one from eBay will see your request here.
For clarity, what exactly happened? Did you ship your item to the address on the label using USPS Priority (as listed), increasing the insurance and with a signature required? Can you not file a claim with USPS, if it came back to you? 🤔

OP1 year agoNo idea. I increased through Ebay which I understand gets a contribution from USPS. So all I am looking for is Ebay to take responsibility and to refund fees. I have contacted the customer and I just want him to confirm the address. It was weird. I shipped to the given address but the box never left New York.

I have many returns...and wish I could get my return postage for all these returns but it doesn't work that way.
We sell something or try to sell something. It doesn't always work.
Wr don't get our eBay selling fee or postage returned.

Any chance the item is prohibited in CA, and not allowed to be shipped? The issue seems to be with USPS more than ebay, from what you've posted.
