How enraging, redacted shipping address and no way to obtain buyer's address?
Summary: exeterproducts is frustrated with eBay's policy of redacting buyer addresses after 90 days, which complicates the process of sending a replacement part for a defective item. They mention difficulties in accessing necessary information for contacts and address retrieval. a_c_green advises checking original sales confirmation emails, as these often contain the buyer's full address and can serve as a record when eBay's internal communications prove insufficient.
What am I missing? I understand that preventing communication outside of Ebay saves on back deal sales and cuts Ebay out of the mix, but what about legit situations? Ebay decides I'm no longer privileged to seller information after 90 days and no way to find their address? Why? I've tried everything from searching my email to exporting tax and summary spreadsheets (including detailed versions) and no luck. Simply replacing a defective part outside of this window and I can't simply generate another label. I search for the customer's address, and it's all redacted. The guy tries to message me his address and it's not allowed, as is me sending him my contact information even though they've made certain seller contact info public. How does this make sense?

·2 weeks agoYou're making it harder than it really is. Just go download an Orders Report where you can acquire all that information including Address of the Buyer.

·2 weeks agoCheck your email again. (i.e. Not the Messages page on the eBay site, but your email account associated with your eBay selling) The email you receive when a sale occurs, with the Subject line of "You made the sale for [listing title here]," contains the buyer's full shipping address.
If you buy your shipping labels through eBay, the buyer's Ship To: address of the confirmation message ("Your shipping label is ready") is incomplete there (both the street address and state abbreviation are missing), but a copy of your original shipping label is attached, so you have a permanent record in your email account.

OP2 weeks agoI found the settings, "item sold" box was not checked by default. I just enabled it. I was able to find results but looks like since 3-24-26 the email notifications had stopped. I did not change this setting... weird. Anyway, the sale was from before that so I did find it. I appreciate the info you provided, thanks!
