How do I get my money back from a scanned package that never shipped?
Hello,
As the title says....How do I get my money back from a scanned package that never shipped? I printed a FedEx label and once I dropped it off, the customer wanted to change the address. So I called the FedEx location and picked up the packaging suspecting fraud(new account). The package didn't go anywhere, but scanned. Now eBay is saying they can't cancel the $57 label, I have to go through FedEx. FedEx is saying they can process a refund if the account holder (eBay) requests it. Even speaking to a eBay supervisor, she said there's nothing she can do, I have to deal with it with FedEx. Can someone tell me how to handle this situation? Thanks in advance.

No Refunds for assumptions. Buyer could have been 100% legit. No fraudulent activity whatsoever. You chose to make this move after the sale, after label was printed, and after you shipped it involving FedEx personnel. For you to get your $57 back would be wrong for wasting everyone's time who was all involved in this. This assumption without proof was a $57 Business Expense. Nothing else. Write it off at Tax Time.

·8 months agoIt looks like they will consider it shipped and recalled at that point. No refund. You can try some calls to their customer service. Each call gets a different rep and you might get one to help. It's a very long shot but you have nothing to lose.

·8 months agoHi @rdz_garage . Once a label is scanned it's considered used and you cannot submit a cancellation request. Even if you purchased the label direct from the carrier they typically deny such requests.
If you haven't yet cancelled the transaction you can let the buyer know it already shipped and while you can retrieve the package as it's still at the drop off point, you can't process a full refund since the shipping label has already been used.
Next time just let the package go through and it'll be returned to you. You'll be billed for return shipping by FedEx/UPS, however you won't be required to refund the buyer due to their error. You can choose to refund them item cost less shipping/fees.
