How do I get a HS Tariff Code to ship to Guam when I want to print the label.
Some one in Guam bought an item. I'm trying to print the shipping label on my computer. Its asking for a HS Tariff Code.

·7 months agoGuam is a territory of the United States. You are registered in the United States.
Guess I don't understand tariffs very well, but why would a shipment to Guam from the US have a tariff imposed?

·7 months agoIt doesn't mean tariffs are owed, but it is a code required for shipping. HST (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) is a code @soh.maryl that classifies the item. It's a required field on customs forms.
Guam is part of the US, but USPS may require a customs form depending on the weight of the item. Military addresses also require customs forms and HS codes.
This process has been in place for the longest time; it's not a result of the tariff stuff from the past year.

·7 months agoThe code is used to determine tariffs, import eligibility and more @soh.maryl , but it doesn't mean tariffs are owed. In some cases it makes the item tariff exempt. Lots of factors. 🙂
