High value Japan Post shipment shows delivered in wrong city
Hi everyone,
I ordered something from Japan worth about $3,000. The Japan Post tracking number is UN030671251JP - I cannot track this number anywhere besides eBay itself which seems to be a normal thing with these tracking numbers. I have not once been able to track this on USPS's website. My delivery address city and zip are Herndon, VA 20171. Yesterday on Saturday August 30th, I saw that the package showed ARRIVAL AT UNIT
DULLES, VA 20101 at 7:19am, and then at 12:28PM it showed DELIVERED IN/AT MAILBOX ASHBURN, VA 20148 which is the completely wrong city. Once I got the delivered notification (not noticing the Ashburn,va scan yet) I went to my mailbox as I live in a apartment complex and did not have anything. I checked with the concierge and nothing.
With this being Japan Post and not trackable on USPS, what are my best options? Its Labor day tomorrow so post office is closed. I want to do what I can when the post offices open to try and get this package back since it seems like it was delivered to the incorrect address. The city and zip are completely off. Is it also possible it was a mis scan? Like just an error scan?
So frustrated and I am getting married on Tuesday (when post office opens up) and leaving for my honeymoon Wednesday out of town. (Regardless of this) I will take all measures with the time I have.
Is the best option to just file a did not receive claim?

·1 year agoThe seller does not ship using the tracking service provided by Japan Post.
You should not be able to search for it on the following site.

If the purchase amount is 3,000 USD, it would be best to open a case and request a signature from the recipient. The seller will be unable to submit signature, and the case will be closed in your favor.

·1 year agoYou need to open an item not received case, you have 30 days from the delivery date.If that wrong address was deliberately put on the pkg, there is no way to get it transferred to your address. Just go to your transaction, and use the drop down menu to open an item not received case. Hopefully, Ebay will see it was not delivered to your address.
