Help - am I going to be charged more by FedEx to ship my package or does the label cover it
Is the amout quoted for shipping and charged to the buyer really cover the shipping cost? The rates quoted on FedEx website are way more than Ebay collected for shipping from the buyer. I need an answer quickly as I need to ship this item off.
Thanks

·1 week agoThe cost that Ebay provides is only an estimate.
No one here knows if FedEx will charge you more after delivery.
But, FedEx is well known for charging more then what Ebay shows.

·1 week ago · EditedThe amount eBay collects from the buyer does not always fully cover the final label cost or the actual carrier charges, and retail FedEx rates are frequently much higher than online discounted rates.
So, purchasing online gives you the retail rate - buying through eBay gives you the discounted rate.
Package size matters as does weight, always round up.

OP1 week agoThanks. Big discrepancy between the Ebay rate and what FedEx quotes online.

·1 week ago@imageek2-half The ebay fedex price often has a discount of about 60-70% off the fedex site rate. I use Fedex a lot and have never been charged more.
But remember one thing when using fedex. You MUST actually measure the package. Do NOT rely on any numbers printed on the box. And always round up. A box length that measures 12.5 inches must be reported as `13 nches.
If you are shipping a polybag then you must check the irregular package box.
As to what ebay collected from the buyer, it was you who put the measurements and weight into the listing. If those were accurate you should have no problem. Just be sure you did what I mentioned above as far as accuracy.
