Order is being shipped to [removed by moderator] - the issue is - I've been down this road with a scammer at a freight forwarding co in Miami so now I usps the address to make sure the zip codes are the USPS zips or I cancel the order due to address issues. This zip is correct BUT there is a 7 digit Suite number and this Company's website list NO Suite numbers in their official address and when I google mapped and zoomed in, the suite number is 600 - not even close to the 7 digit suite number listed in the address. I'm trying to figure out what I should do? I don't want to be out money a second time for - item no recv'd.

·4 months agoI got hit with an item not received from Doral, Florida lately...I knew it was freight forward because of a locker number appearing next to the buyer's name.
I usually don't have a problem with freight forward...why would a buyer use freight forward for a standard envelope is beyond me.
These buyers are getting smart...buyer eBay ID was of USA and no International credit card was used.
Here's my question: I got 6 days to respond to the claim and there was no hold on the fund of that item.
I got scared and gave the refund before it got escalated by eBay...would it be escalated by eBay?..there was no tracking. I wonder if I did the wrong thing by giving a refund?
I didn't want a nasty feedback from buyer so I just refund.
Buyer would not state if it was freight forward and / or a foreign country but his response saids otherwise.

OP4 months agoI would never ever mail any item without tracking. Ebay will always side with the Buyer because you have no tracking to prove you mailed it. Mail everthing with tracking and if it has a Freight Fowarding address, google search the physical address without the zip to make sure the mailing zip matches the USPS zip. Sorry that happened. You would've had to give a full refund no matter what.

IME if you put signature confirmation on a FF order 95% of the time they have to pick it up from the PO because the regular packages just get dropped in bulk on a loading dock (which is also why you don't always get a delivered scan at these). This gets a delivered scan at the correct zip code every time.
Personally I've never had an issue with FF buyer's, but I do put signature on most things over $200, especially if it's going to Miami/Doral.

·4 months agoI don't think the suite number or lack thereof would have any bearing in the event of an INR case, though. eBay only checks to see if the ZIP codes match, which is why we're now ending up with a completely different scam perpetuated by "sellers".

·4 months agoThat's suite number is probably the buyers ID so the freight forwarder knows who the package is for.

·4 months agoSo I am curious what the issue is? If it is a freight forward company, the minute it is received at that address - the buyer protection ends as delivery has occurred. There is no coverage for rerouting delivery.

·4 months agoMy reading of the issue the OP had in the past is that the ZIP code provided by the buyer didn't match the official ZIP code of the freight forwarder, but it was close enough that the carrier was able to get the item to its destination anyway. The delivery that showed up in the tracking, then, would have been to a different ZIP code than the one used at Checkout.

OP4 months agoYes! Exactly. 😁

·4 months agoThere's 1 freight forwarder in Florida which you can use two different zip codes and it'll get delivered.
I think the problem is buyers still use the old zip code, but USPS scans it delivered to the new zip code.

OP4 months agoNot necassarily, I mailed to a freight fwding co in Miami who switched zips, the mail center in Miami corrected the zip, dropped the item off at the corrected address (same address but with right zip code) then the buyer reported it as an "item not received" and I had to issue a full refund + shipping because the buyer gave ebay the correct zip in their complaint. Regardless of my tracking/delivery proof, Ebay found in their favor. It's a common scam (I found out). I was able to reverse the shipping loss charge and ding on my account by sending a snapshot of the original shippig label and the USPS official/google maps address showing that they lied and it was a global shipping forwading co BUT I was able to do that through a live person on FB chat. Now that ebay is run by AI, and their customer service is pretty much gone, those reversals will become less and less. Miami and Delaware are the worst offenders, so if I get a wonky address on an order from one of those well known and documented locations and the zips don't align with USPS - I cancel the order citing address issues. It just happened to me a week ago, same city in Delaware - I canceled bc the zip was differnet than USPS's zip for this particular address, this customer never reached out to me about the cancellation which validated they were trying to scam me. Naturally, I was leary of this one because there is no "Suite" attached to this warehouse although the zip and address are good. But as another poster stated and I found the same explanation on the internet - the suite number is most likely a customer number. I wanted to get that verified by a seller on ebay that has experienced this previously. We also looked at the buyer's account - most of his buying reviews are in german and this forwarding company is based out of Germany - so feeling confident, it's legit, I have it going out.
