GA shipping price......dimension changes price?
What am I missing here? zip is NJ 08055-9314, the same in both scenarios....... it's 2# weight, in the first I accidentally left dimensions at 1 x 1 x 1..... I corrected for the 2nd to 10 x 8 x 6......and got a 50c difference. are they now figuring dimensional into everything?

OP2 years agoTHANKS to everyone. I had forgotten about the cubic rate thingy......and we've had to be on vac due to some electrical problems so haven't sold as much since the change..........will study the thread link........ I do appreciate all the help..............

·2 years agoSorry to hijack, @dhbookds, but I had a Priority puzzler this week. My 1# package (proper dimensions) was $6.89, but when I changed it to 2# the difference was $.02. Yep, $6.91. I went ahead and boxed the outfit with even the hangers included. 🙌

·2 years agoI may has asked this before, but I can't remember the answer. For sellers that don't change the dimensions from 1x1x1 when they buy their labels to the actual correct dimensions, will they be charged postage due in the automated system? Old way it wouldn't have mattered if they were below a cubic foot, but it's different now.
I bet there are plenty sellers out there not aware of the cubic change.

·2 years agoCorrect / incorrect dims on the label is what matters in terms of APV charges.
If seller leaves 1x1x1 and pays cubic rate, they could get hit with a cost adjustment.
If they paid non-cubic rate with 1x1x1 dims, then as long as package dims are below a cubic foot and not subject to length surcharges they should be fine.
As of right now, only way to tell is to look at the generated label and see if it says you paid cubic rate or not.

When the new USPS rates went into effect in January, eBay suddenly gave sellers access to purchase USPS labels at the Cubic rates for both Priority Mail and Ground Advantage. These rates can save you a LOT, especially for heavy packages. The special Cubic rates go in increments of .1 pound, up to a volume of 1 cubic foot for Ground Advantage and up to .5 pound for Priority Mail.
So now suddenly it is important for listings to have accurate package dimensions, and many of those 1x1x1 listings are going to be undercharging buyers significantly. As posts in this thread demonstrate, many sellers did not see the little reference to all of this in eBay's January announcement, which you can see here:

·2 years agoMaybe it's seeing those dimensions as an envelope?
I do know that I have found sometimes a discrepancy in rates between 1 lbs and ounces, and 2 lbs even. I had thought that over 1 up to 2 was the same rate, usually it is. The difference wasn't a lot, I don't recall off the top of my head, but enough that I weigh and put the actual in every time.
