FYI for Buyers & Sellers
The link below is from ebays own guideline/policy at how to "Combine Shipping" while it all sounds good sadly it contradicts reality as there is no way to process and order in which they tell you to do it! Why? because ebay forces the buyer into paying for item(s) before a seller can provide an accurate invoice which then blocks a seller from making ANY changes, the ebay shopping cart is useless, the shipping rules are useless as they omit the one most important option check box that would say..."Let seller combine invoice" and since the seller knows his products and how to ship them would be a simple process, yet ebay thinks it knows how to combine shipping in their best interest(read dollars and cents) (follow the money here for a minute if you will) so since ebay does not combine they only add, example: 1 decal wgt less that 4oz pkgd = roughly 4-5.00., buyer wants another decal, which in the real world will still wgt less than 4oz for both., so the combined shipping total should stay roughly the same, BUT in ebays world they add NOT combine so now your shipping for the same two decals increases to roughly 8.00, now here is the twist, how does ebay calculate the fees applied to a transaction....in their best interest....they calculate it on the total value of the sale, which includes shipping and taxes., so they increase the bottom line, on this order they increased it 3.00 which at 14% is about .76 that is just on one transaction, now multiply that across the platform for just one day and guess the substantial amount increased, sure some sellers will do the after the sale refund, many buyers will not even bother or they will go to another platform like walmart or Amazon who have reasonable shipping values....but the bottom line is more won't do anything, yes the seller may also think he made a killing on shipping, but also failed to consider how many sales were lost and will lose from the overcharged shipping rate(which the seller get blamed for)....

·3 years agoOne problem with combining is that there is an option that once you buy, ebay is immediately paid. I hate this setting and one of my accounts got switched to that. So of course, that was the time that I wanted to buy 2 other items and wanted combined shipping. If you have that setting where the items is paid for immediately, you need to REMOVE the setting BEFORE you buy. Ebay did that more for their convenience then the buyer's convenience.

·3 years agoThe combine feature has been a disaster for a couple years now, when I first started selling I don't remember having so many problems.
It doesn't work on the app but Ebay won't tell the user that. Enough time has passed so I have to believe this nonfunctionality is considered a feature.
