freight shipping for furniture and estimating shipping costs
I'd like to sell some pieces that would need to be shipped via a freight service. The items have glass shelves which add to the value. I'd love to hear from other sellers that ship large items as to how they handle their shipping. There are a number of services that provide that service but estimating the shipping is so tricky as it can fluctuate so much based on zip code. Any advice out there in the ebay community? Thanks!

·1 month ago · EditedUnless you know what you are doing, stick with local pickup. You mark the shipping as freight and buyer sets up the shipping.
For the seller; To set up freight as a shipping option for oversized items on eBay, follow these steps:
When creating your listing, scroll down to the Shipping section.
From the Shipping method dropdown, select Freight for oversized items.
Enter the shipping costs or choose to offer free shipping if you want to cover the cost yourself.
If you want more control over shipping costs by region, consider using shipping rate tables.
You can also manage your shipping options using business policies for easier management across listings.
Make sure to ship the item using the service selected by the buyer at checkout and upload accurate tracking details to comply with eBay's shipping policy.

For the buyer:
When you buy an item on eBay, you can find the shipping charges and estimated delivery date in the Shipping and payments section of the listing, in your cart, and at checkout.
After purchase, you can track your item to see when it should arrive.
If you want to know about shipping costs, options, or combined shipping discounts, check the listing's shipping details or the Shipping and payments tab.
For international purchases, shipping may take longer and cost more. You can see estimated shipping costs and import charges in the listing and at checkout.
For more details, see shipping and delivery for buyers.

The buyer can still open a NAD return and you will be on the hook to either refund or pay return shipping.
