Fraudulent UPS cost adjustments
I Sell a 30" long mailing envelope thats 4" round. thats is only 1 pound in weight.
Not every time, every 3rd time I get hit with this UPS adjustment charge.
If it was valid it would be every time
I have been selling the same thing for 8 years now with no issues, now they are forcing me out. I CANNOT AFFORD $29 shipping charges on a thing that weights 1 pound. When its suppose to be 8 bucks!
I called twice. The first guy said allot of people have been experiencing this issue and they will send a request to UPS for investigation. But request just comes back "Special Handling" then Ebay just throws their hands up in defeat.
The funny thing is the same thing was happening on Ama$on a while back, and Ama$on got it corrected. Ebay just doen't give a sh@t about its sellers.
Unfortunately, I'm Done with this crap! And will have to quit selling on Ebay

Why is EBAY burrowing their head in the sand on this ? And why the Shills on here swearing to the Lie?
It is obvious to see that the EBAY Shipping Calculator is screwed up.
UPS GROUND is quicker and cheaper than UPS GROUND ADVANTAGE which is the discount shipping.
Just shaking my head at this lack of competency and conspiracy to hide the facts.

·1 year agoUPS Sure Post is little longer transit time 7 days ,then their Ground shipping which is 4 to 5 day transit . That being said I will ask for UPS over USPS ground advantage Shipping which is garbage lots of unexplained delays and bouncing around depending on locations shipping from .

I contacted Keven at EBAY. SK# 1-490690750514
After 20 minutes on the phone spewing the same Bag of Worms Logic I received here,
He took the initiative under duress to investigate the issue.
After calling me back He did admit that:
After Talking to the IT Department it was uncovered that "THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM"
affecting a small number of EBAY Sellers that surfaced the end of last year.
Another lie, this issue has be on going since 2023 according to the Forums which have 2 pages of Sellers bringing up the same Fraudulent Charging issues. I myself got the first on March of 2024.
I was offered a $30 store credit to stop my initiation of a Class Action Law Suite which I have already called the Lawyer on.
These Fraudulent Charges, whether intentional or glitches need TO BE CORRECTED!
Not just for me, but for all who have experienced this Fraud.

·1 year agoI have seen read post's on these boards since march 2024 about FedEx over charges .In most case's where sellers using the unusual shipping some cases no box's just wrapping items in Bags . while others did not do Dim package size correctly .And Yes FedEx did some billing mistake errors that they had to refund the shippers . I though back in 2019 FedEx billing errors on triple charging same shipping labels was odd rare issue ,and I was one of the thousand members that got hit by the billing error . ebay fought FedEx over it and won I was never out any money since I never had any credit card or bank account hooked up for seller auto fee's then . I find the on going billing issue's with FedEx since march 2024 very odd .

OP1 year agoI just called UPS and gave them the Tracking Number and they confirmed that there was NO Extra Handling charge on the shipping in question:
Tacking Number 1Z14V3880347194092
and said it can be proved by putting the Tacking Number in UPS.COM.
If there was extra HANDLING CHARGES as EBAY Claim, as it would appear on the Tracking Page if so.
EBAY has no leg to stand on on these Fraudulent charges. And this is not the first one I have gotten.
I may even consider going to a Lawyer on this Fraud.

This is the Customer service on EBAY. Pitiful !
Monica was the only one who actually looked into this and showed proof that I was
charged fraudulently. Showing the most I should have been charges was $13.03
But fraudulently charged $29.34.
Contacting EBAY by phone ends with the same results. Low Level employees that have no power and are only trained to contradict the true facts in their favor. What a way to run a business!

Like using the address that I am being charged for
- goto the UPS Site
-Enter the information
-note the charge and compare
If I go to UPS.COM they would charge me $13.70 as a nobody, without any Ebay discounts.
Ebay wants to charge me $8.66 originally.
Then want to charge me an additional $20.70 after the fact.
So for a $52 Dollar SALE for shipping a 1 pound item I made $11.92
less than the cost of the item I shipped.

·1 year agoThat's a lot of complaining for someone with only 95% positive feedback. Maybe you should just put your shipment in boxes like the rules clearly say you need to, and appreciate that UPS let it go so many times.

OP1 year agoYour Logic makes perfect sense.
I ship 5 of the same Items and one gets tagged with Special Handling and charged 3x the postage.
So, obviously in your mind UPS dropped the ball on overcharging me on all shipments.
Even tho I sell the same Item on a different Venue and see no extra charges.
This entire conversation has be copied and documented. even the posts that you have conveniently deleted. I will be contacting my Credit Card company to dispute these Fraudulent charges.

For fun I'll give you the FedEx service guide since you are under the wrong impression switching to them is going to change anything in your favor. FedEx is worse about cost adjustments than UPS is.

I think you also missed:
- 8 years of Sales - with no issues
- last 6 months $20.70 Cost adjustment on the same Item that shipped for $8.72
with no cost adjustment in the same week.
Obviously there is an error! every Item should have or not have the adjustment. Its all the same exact item.

UPS audited your package and charged you the cost adjustment, eBay didn't.
UPS is on hard times these days and I'm sure they're auditing more packages than usual to get revenue from those surcharges that may have slipped by in the past.

·1 year agoThe current CEO of UPS is from outside the company with a background in finance, not operations or logistics or transportation.
Enforcement of existing price issues would be expected to increase as her influence increases. It is likely that every one of your shipments will eventually see this adjustment.
UPS is under a great deal of pressure to increase profit. She has announced a major decrease in Amazon shipments which are highly discounted.
The controlling interest in UPS is by Class A Shareholders, all of whom are employees or retirees from the company. They have suffered a large decrease in the value of their holdings. They can only sell their stock to UPS. Although there are public shareholders who are not restricted, these class A shareholders have voting power equal to 10 times each public share.
The company is seeking to increase its profits, quickly. They signed a generous contract with the Teamsters which is only increasing the pressure to collect every penny they are due.

·1 year agoYou're correct. There WAS an error and the error was made by UPS. Every item should have had adjustments but UPS erred in missing them.
I guarantee you'll be back complaining about being surcharged by Fedex.

Same info applies and problem is avoided if you use a box instead of a bag.

I never had an issue before 6 months ago.
Ebay can clearly see that the same thing has been bought multiple times and only sometimes it has cost adjustments. No one cares enough at Ebay to fix any problems.
Even if this Fraudulent Billing was valid - $29.70 to ship an item that weights 1 pound. Really!!!

·1 year agoAll of the packages may have been subject to a surcharge. But maybe some of the people handling the items at the time just did not charge you. And prehaps UPS is now being more diligent in applying surcharges.

·1 year agoThe problem is you are using a round tube @sundog333 . eBay's shipping calculator factors in weight and dimensions; it does not factor in irregular packaging.
Round tubes are irregular packaging and you will always get a cost adjustment after the fact with that surcharge when buying a UPS or FedEx label here. Unless eBay builds out a new system to indicate type of packaging upfront and account for these surcharges you need to operate by building that cost in upfront as a handling fee or increasing your item price. Another option is using USPS. Another option is buying labels from pirateship.com where you can account for package type and pay for the tube surcharge upfront, but that still means you need to adjust your pricing on eBay to account for the surcharge.
