First time shipping to APO AE could someone help answer these questions?
1) Does Ground Advantage work for these? It was what the listing offered, and its not greyed out. I am assuming it does but does anyone know?
2) The item is sunglasses, I think the HS Tariff Code is 9004.10
3) There is a third row, does it need to be filled out?
4) What is the AES/ITN/Exemption? Do I need to fill that out or leave blank?
5) I notice I can buy shipcover insurance, will that insure it the entire way?

OP3 years agoThe shipping estimares by Ebay in this are way off.
It says Ground Advantage 30-45 days…. Ebay estimates it will arrive by Sat…
Luckily I am doing Priority which is 7-9 days which still wouldnt make a Saturday.
just a warning to people about Ebay and GA with this

·3 years agoSince you have received a lot of conflicting information here, may I respectfully suggest that you contact your local US Post Office and find out exactly for sure what kind of address this is and exactly how you handle it?
(Although I am sure it's a military address. Had a son-in-law who was Navy and his was an FPO address.

OP3 years agoI did when I went in
few notes for people:
1) Has to be hand signed by you the shipper (there is a line for this)
2) has to be handed to an actual postal employee (so wait in line)

·3 years agoif it goes to europe, the HS code requires 10 digits, 6 digits is sufficient for UK, so the code you enter into your customs form needs to be:
9004100000
Some customs will simply reject the package and return it, or will process it manually, delaying the delivery + charging extra admin fees if you don' t use a 10 digit HS code

·3 years agoThe OP is shipping to a military base APO address it ships same as if it were going to any state in the US.

·3 years agoJust an addition to the above: Although shipping is done as a domestic item would go, because it's going to a military base, a customs form is necessary.

OP3 years agoAlso saw parcel select could take up to 45 business days but first class was 7-9….
now that these two are combined it seems safer to just go for priority and eat the cost difference.

·3 years agoGround advantage should take as long as first class. If the difference is not that much, send it priority mail. That item is going to someone in the US service. It's an honor to ship something to them. If you can't pay the difference, just use Ground advantage. Ship asap and let them know that you have sent it out and you have no clue when it will arrive. Ebay guesses but they are not very accurate on east coast-west coast transactions, they are not going to get this one correct either. Those folks are used to items taking a bit of time to get to their destinations.

OK, I printed a priority mail label because even the USPS website says that some ground advantage may not go overseas, and I would rather not risk it for a few dollars.
it came with a special set of instructions see attached:
The one line on the instructions says you have to mail it on the specified mailing date. But that date is today and the post office closed hours ago.
does this mean how to create a new label on Monday?

·3 years agoI use to be in the military so I recognized the address structure. Just a internet search of APO AE 09366 will pull up its location and if you look at the search results you will find one from the USPS web site.
