First class vs Ground advantage
I have been selling on eBay for over 20 years. The cost for Ground advantage is severely impacting what the buyer has to pay and I'm sure that is impacting sales. I recently sold an item the size of an oversized birthday card that weighs less than 1 oz, Ground advantage is $8 oversized card two freedom stamps. Together with eBays ridiculous stance on charging a fee on shipping, I just about break even.

·1 week ago · EditedIf it is over 6 1/8" wide (shortest side), just send it as a first class large envelope with stamps. No one who likes vintage birthday cards will file a false INR, the odds are virtually zero. And since large envelopes have to bend parallel to the longest side (unlike regular letters), it will go perfectly through and won't even create any tiny creases or spine tics. Barring something really special charging GA on an item like that will make it never sell. Send it with stamps, you save money, the buyer saves money, it actually sells, everyone is happy.
I looked at your store, one thing you do need to do it recheck all of your shipping, it is way off on many items. You have local pickup only on your Davis Projector manual (you need to ask more than $2 for something even with local pickup), your Kodak booklet has $2 media mail shipping (if you send it MM you will send it out as a near loss, send it large envelope), and you have Priority shipping on your Windows 95/Access 98 manual (will go out at a big loss via PM, change it to media mail.) Use Media Mail for all of your instruction manuals.

·1 week agoIt's perfectly fine to send something like that with stamps. You can get a non machinable 'stamp' at the PO for a little less than 2 forever stamps. You can even choose it when creating a listing.
The only thing is, you will not win a 'not received' claim because you will have no tracking. This is probably not an issue as your items are unlikely to attract dishonest buyers.

OP1 week agoI was trying to avoid going to PO for several reasons and noticed that eBay now offers a STD envelope, which I just used. As far as Scammers are concerned they will go after anything - been there!
