FedEx shipping fees cost as much as the shipping cost?!
I noticed my monthly invoice this month was higher than usual.
Normally, I just accept that doing business on eBay can be expensive. This time I wanted to investigate, and look at the detailed fees.
I usually use FedEx for large packages because it’s almost always cheaper. I’m looking at my invoice and seeing that “FedEx shipping label fee” is charging as much, if not in some cases more, then the actual price to ship the item. Is this normal? If so, what can I do to avoid these high shipping fees. Just use priority?
thanks!

·5 years agoMy scale is very accurate. In my experience I have never had issues with USPS. If Fedex or UPS appears cheaper I would first bump up my numbers so, a 34 Oz package becomes 36 Oz and a 13 inch dimension becomes a 14 inch dimension. If the price is still significantly lower then I go with Fedex or UPS. Even though I bump up my numbers there is about a 10% or more chance for Fedex's final cost to be higher. Interestingly, there is about a 10% or so chance of UPS final cost to be lower. It seems both Fedex and UPS notice the wrong numbers but Fedex tends to believe my numbers should have been higher. Whereas, UPS notices that I numbers are bigger than they should be.

·2 years agoI’ve been rounding up to be safe. Even though the service cost is the same for 1lb, 3lb, or even 5lb for this shipment.
i get a ridiculous fee for being 0.8lb when I put it at 1lb. Anything not perfect.
