Fedex Ebay label adjustment.
Had a 53 dollar adjustment with Fedex on a single golf club box.
I made a mistake of an inch and half in length. I purchased the label at 15.95.
Then a week later I get the adjustment email.
To make a long story short since I had a prior adjustment 2 years ago.
They took 53 bucks from me for an inch and half error.
I dont mind paying for and error but price seems excessive from Arizona to Kentucky.
I was just casual seller with golf clubs.

Without knowing more, I would guess that FedEx was not charging for an error on the measurements that you provided, but they were charging you for an 'Additional Handling Charge' because of the length of the box.
If the box is over 48" in length, then you would have a $38 surcharge to ship to Zone 7 (AZ > KY) ... so your total charge that I think you would see would be:
38 + 15.75 = 53.75.
It is expensive to ship golf clubs through FedEx.

·1 year agopretty sure it does not have anything to do with a prior adjustment.
fedex does have extra handling fee's depending on the packing and size
for example, basically anything not in a cardboard box "may" and most likely will get a handling surcharge
such as plastic wrapped, nylon bag, anything with a handle on it.
essentially any non-standard packaging but mostly anything not in a cardboard box.
be aware usps has also rolled out a new fee for anything that might "roll" i.e. round packages or tubes.
this also applies to any liquid over 20oz

·1 year agoFedEx is tough with this stuff...within the $53 surcharge they charged you for the additional postage and for making the error..you pay for both & can see that in the breakdown they send. If they just charged you for the additional postage, what would we have to lose by underestimating the cost, maybe we get away with it, and if we don't we just pay what we should have paid anyway? Nope, FedEx charges for the mistake

·1 year agoFedex is by far the worst for that. Package size and weight must be correct. When you cross the over size line, it gets expensive. 15.95 is quite low for a package of that size. It would be expected for the weight but not the length.
You will fair better using USPS.

·1 year agoAdjustment in shipping cost through Fed Ex and UPS is a common thing around here. Many people deal with the same thing. Sounds to me like $15.95 is kind of low. Yes on heavier and longer items it's best to deal locally unless you run a warehouse.
