Good Morning! I've been selling on eBay for only about the past two years and it's been quite the experience, given the nightmare of the managed payment system rollout as well as other shipping issues. The latter half of last year i started having serious issues with shipping labels, i was using the calculator as i always had before, but was getting overcharged on shipping labels every time due to not understanding Dimension weight. After getting overcharged for a significant amount on several sales i finally learned the nuances.As i'm sure everyone is aware, FedEx actually shares with us the details of the package we were billed.Some labels, the package dim weight was 14lbs, and i left 14lbs 1 oz in the calculator, so FedEx billed me at 15lbs and the overcharge was around double what the estimated cost was (i believe the discount goes away)Other times i had put the exact lbs and ounces in the calculator and FedEx rounded up to the next highest whole ounce, resulting in me paying $25 extra for a 2 ounce dim weight discrepancy. Even if the DIM is 15 lbs, if you put 15lbs 1 oz, they bill you for 16lbs. (the calculator has since been updated to reflect the accurate price by rounding up the ounce value) But more often than not, FedEx was consistently overcharging me for packages with the exact same billed weight and dimensions as my original package. I had seemingly done everything correct. After a two month endeavor with eBay support and supervisors, filing customized claims with said supervisor with personal notes on each one, with the goal of recovering some of my loss, i received an email telling me there was nothing they could do as FedEx had rejected all their appeals on the basis that they had billed the correct amount.For the past 3 months i have exclusively shipped UPS and USPS as a result of my experience. Last week i sold a Hamilton beach coffee maker at a low enough price where a few dollars on shipping matters, and FedEx was a few dollars cheaper to this location in TN.Lo and Behold this morning i wake up to a $35 shipping deduction for my package that had an estimated cost of $16.20 and has the exact same billed weight and dimensions as the original. I'm so frustrated, I can waste my time again attempting to start an appeal but i have no doubt they'll just decline it. It really feels like FedEx is willfully taking advantage of the situation with eBay labels as nobody has any recourse. I'd love to call customer support and let them know, but they just tell me it's eBays issue. Going forwards i will never ship FedEx again unless absolutely necessary.
