Fake FedEx Tracking Numbers
eBay please fix this fake FedEx tracking issue. It is only FedEx. Scam Sellers are uploading fake tracking numbers that go to your city but not to your house. eBay's tracking shows delivered because of the garbage FedEx software only confirms to your city and not your house. Looking at the forum and on other sites this scam has been going on for quite a while now. It's getting much worse now.

·5 months agoIt's not just Fedex. That scam works with all shippers. It's the fastest growing on line scam. Has outpaced the drained gift card scam. It's the elephant in the room that needs to be addressed.

·5 months agoI had similar expericence for $650 phone. The seller provided a fake tracking id which show the package delivered but nothing else and fedex is not helping to give me more details.

·5 months agoThis happens with all the carriers. I don't think eBay has a great way to stop it, but buyers have a few options to get their money back.
First get details from the carrier that it didn't go to your address, then go to your payment source and file fraud, claiming victim of "fake tracking scam". Your bank/CC fraud department is well aware of this practice.
You can also file for INAD for a full return and refund. Make a copy of the letter and send it back in a box to the seller, assuming they send you a valid & usable return label. Both options hit sellers hard, the charge back also takes a fee from the seller.

·5 months agoUnfortunately, I JUST got scammed. Same MO. As soon as my funds were released, the seller requested the return of the item. I sitting refreshing my FedEx delivery date, and there is none.. eBay is soo slow to get involved that now the seller is "inactive". Sent screenshots of tracking and chat convo with FedEx. Doubt I'll ever get those $225.00 back. This is sad.. never had issues with Ebay before, but I've been buying more on Amazon lately, so I guess I haven't been keeping up.

·5 months agoPastor Gross, you might be able to have your negative feedback removed, since it's still recent.
eBay will remove feedback if it mentions a case outcome. However, it's possible that eBay is now editing feedback rather than removing it entirely, so your flockage may vary.

·5 months agoIt’s not only FedEx, and since federal privacy laws prevent third parties from accessing the details of the delivery information, it’s difficult to really address. Most of us now recommend going to your credit card’s fraud department if you run into it rather than dealing with eBay, but often you can vet your sellers better before you order to reduce the risk.
