eIS Protection Question
I understand that if eBay International Shipping protects me from INR claims if the package gets lost or gets liquidated at the hub when it can't be mailed out of the US.
Â
However, if a package gets returned to sender after a customs check because it was unmailable, and I did end up getting the item back instead of eBay liquidating it, would I be covered under the same protections, or am I responsible for the refund?
Â
Asking this because I shipped a phone using eIS to Malaysia, it made it to the hub (or Consolidation Center), it got to customs clearance before it was sent back, and it ended up being marked as Delivered, but to my own address instead of the buyer's. Buyer files INR, and eBay said I was responsible for refunding them.

OP5 months agoNever mind, I discovered that I used EISD which doesn't have such protections. Sorry about that everyone.

OP5 months agoI contacted an eBay agent regarding the case shortly after the INR was filed, and she recommended me to wait for eBay to step in because it was a failed eIS delivery.

You got incorrect information from customer service. You need to issue a full refund BEFORE the buyer asks ebay to step in.

Has the buyer opened a INR case?
