EIS is no longer showing as an option in most recent listings.
Summary: shannoburggra-0, who sells used Jetski parts, shared their experience with the listing algorithm and its impact on international sales. They noted that certain keywords, perceived as 'hazardous,' can hide listings from potential buyers. The ongoing policy changes add to the challenge of maintaining visibility for these listings. They are trying to adapt their listings to continue selling larger items internationally, as they find it more profitable. shannoburggra-0 also expressed interest in discussing "guy stuff" like automotive and Powersports items with other sellers.
I have a buyer in Canada who is interested in purchasing a number of computer parts (RAM and CPU's, so nothing big or oversized) from me. So I created a listing just for them with all the parts they want, and normally I'd let EIS handle it. However, for whatever reason it is not showing as shipping to ANY international country, just the USA. The thing is, all the listings for the individual components have EIS show up without issue. For some reason this listing (and the past few most recent listings I've made) aren't showing EIS as an available option. If I enable shipping where I ship it directly to the buyer myself, then that shows up, but still no EIS.
I'm currently enrolled in the program and have been for some time, plus I do not have any restrictions set up in my store to prohibit buyers from certain countries buying my items. I am at a loss as to what the issue is.

·8 months agoDo not use the terms 'lot' or 'bundle' in those listings. eBay sees those terms as meaning a bunch of different unspecified items and because customs forms have to be itemized they simply block those terms from having eIS.
So for your newest listing just call it "20 sticks of RAM" or the like.

OP8 months agoHuh, I would have not even considered that. It just so happens that the other new listing I checked also happened to be a lot listing. Thank you very much! I will keep this in mind when shipping internationally.

·8 months agoNo problem! They really don't mention this in any obvious place in the help that I know of. Only found out because trading cards has a "mixed lots" category and if you use those terms you're forced to use that category, later realized it would block eIS as well.

·3 months agoYea I sell used Jetski stuff and have been playing around with the EIS more since I realized my sales slumped and stayed slumped internationally especially on larger items. And figured alot of the problems also come from words that could be taken as “hazardous” in the title or also in the main body of the description. Some “hazardous “ words seem to slip by if there at the end of the description, haven’t really figured out why that is but the algorithm is crazy and once it’s figured out at all it gets changed up because “policy changes” and it’s back to problem solving.
But it’ll hide your listings from perspective, buyers if it detects keywords of hazardous things like fuel, gas oil, etc.. and then after that, if it passes the algorithm, then if it gets approved for eis through the algorithm all u have left is the inspection. That’s at least my personal belief and then me being used Jetski Parts vendor. I used to sell quite a few larger items internationally and that’s dropped off significantly because of the weight restrictions going through EIS so I’m working on trying to modify those listings so I can still sell them internationally because I prefer international sales. I wish I could get some more cause I think I make more money that way than domestically. Because I bake in shipping for domestic with free shipping so for international it’s like getting paid for the handling side I guess.
On a sidenote, what are anybody’s thoughts on having the ability to have a space for really specifically items to do with automotive, Powersports, it sounds sexist, but things that would generally be “ guy stuff” if you would be shoot me a message and I would be super interested in connecting with other sellers to spitball back n forth.
