EIS handle Combined Shipping yet?
I should know this, but I've been out of town a bunch this Summer & I don't recall if this has changed. I also have never had a multiple purchase in EIS, but today I got a request from a buyer who wants to buy 3 items & wants me to set up a combo listing.
Does EIS now support combined shipping? For some reason, I though there was a recent announcement that it did? If it does, can she just buy all 3 & EIS will combine the weights?
I'd like to avoid the hassle of setting up a separate listing if I can. TIA.

·2 years agoI have never seen the domestic rate combined but have gotten orders with the combined international portion.
I did a partial refund on the domestic portion because it was the right thing to do.
I have gotten other combined orders from some of these buyers so it has worked out well.

OP2 years agoAargghhh, how frustating, she said she can't ask me for a total. I appreciate everyone's help!
@wastingtime101 ru saying you had to wait 2 days just for EIS to populate on your listing? I normally use EIS, I guess I just thought it populated immediately. Am I understanding you correctly?

·2 years agoYou are understanding correctly, but I don't think that's the norm. I'm not sure why it took so long.
It's correct that the buyer cannot ask for a total and you cannot send an invoice. In your shoes I would update one of the active listings she wants to include the other item(s) - just add a note in the description, photos, update the title, price, shipping and weight/dimensions. That should take care of it.

·2 years agoThe short answer @simply-the-best-for-you : it's in progress.
eIS rolled out combined shipping to some categories, but not all. There is no published list. Even in categories where it's rolled out, items may not combine. eBay has not published the criteria used to make these determinations.
A couple months ago I had to create a custom listing for a buyer in Germany because eIS combined items from the same variation when purchasing multiples, but they did not combine different variations (colors) from the same exact listing when the buyer tried to purchase a few different colors.
I created a lot listing for them and after approx 48 hrs eIS took effect on the listing and the buyer purchased.

·2 years agoHere's a seller data point ... On 6/21/2024 I experienced 3 separate item numbers in the collectibles category that successfully were combined using EIS (from US to Canada). It appeared that the weights were combined to determine the US postage amount and I was able to send all three items in the same box as instructed. I didn't have to do anything special. I am hoping the buyer also got a similar discount on the Canada leg of the journey.

·2 years agoFind that order in seller hub @whitewaterford and print a packing slip. That will show you how much the buyer paid in total for shipping. Subtract your domestic cost and then you'll be able to determine if buyer paid separate or combined eIS rates for the 3 items.
The German buyer I mentioned was getting a combined domestic rate, it's only the eIS portion that wasn't combining on separate colors - but it combined fine on multiples of the same color.

·2 years ago@wastingtime101 It appears in my case that shipping costs were combined for the buyer on both the domestic and international portions. 🙂

·2 years agoLast I read it was not for all categories. which are included........ I do not know. It may have progressed beyond that point.

·2 years agoIt does automatically combine on some listings. eBay hasn't said why some do and why some don't combine. I just put 3 of your listings in my cart and the shipping to Canada did not combine. It shows me $18+ for each item which is what it shows me on each listing. It isn't possible for EIS transactions to ask for a total either.
