eBay/USPS Miracle ?!?
Summary: monroe67 shares a surprisingly fast delivery experience with the US Postal Service, where a package sent from San Diego to Pomona was delivered in about 21 hours. They speculate that the package was perfectly timed for rapid delivery and humorously wonder if they could monetize their lucky experience. fm2000 suggests that sharing a regional sort hub could explain the quick delivery time.
With all the recent negativity about the US Postal Service, I kinda want to share my recent experience.
On Friday, 9-11-26, my selling ID accepted a buyer's offer, he paid, and I took the item to my local post office where I got an Acceptance Scan at 3:53 p.m.
Early afternoon on Saturday, 9-12-26, I decided to take a quick look at the tracking number and to my extreme surprise: Delivered at 12:18 p.m.

I'm in San Diego, California, and the buyer is in Pomona, California, about 120 miles away.
I used Ground Advantage, as I always do.
The US Postal Service delivered next day -- around 21 hours after I released the package to the post office.
Post Office accepted Friday at 3:53 pm -- and then Post Office delivered the next day, Saturday at 12:18 p.m.
Apparently, I just lucked out on the timing, so the package was placed on The Next Truck every step of the way.
I wish I could recreate and trademark whatever I did, and sell the process !! Could I get rich ??

·Sep 17, 2026 at 2:38 AMI have been seeing some similar quick delivery in the past several weeks.
I postulate that it is because the volume of mail is off.

·Sep 17, 2026 at 2:13 AMDo both areas share the same regional sort hub? (My knowledge of California is limited.) If they do, it is totally possible to get it in 1 day.
