Ebay Won't Honor Buyer Money Back Guarantee
I purchased an item that was described as working and in good condition. When I received the item, it was dirty, damaged, and definitely not working. It would not even turn on. There was no way this item was ever working, and the seller knew he was scamming me. I submitted a return request and selected do not want the item as the reason. I was on my phone and was not able to scroll through different reasons to select one that said damaged and as this was my first return, I didn't even know there was an option for damaged items. In the comments of the return I wrote that it was damaged and would not turn on. The seller, of course, denied the return since he knew he was selling a broken item. I contacted Ebay and they said there is nothing they can do about it because I selected the wrong reason for a return. Even though I described the situation to them and let them know I had been scammed their only response was to contact the seller who is not responding. Is there anything else I can do? It seems crazy that Ebay can't simply change the return reason or honor their money back guarantee that they advertise all over the website.
