Ebay will not alooy me to ship a Bible as Media Mail. Why?
I sold a Bible (New Testament) to someone. Buyer selected Media Mail as shipping method. But when I try to purchase shipping label, eBay is pushing me to buy a First Class (or whatever is called today, I believe something like "Ground Advantage") label. I thought they would know that a Bible is a book. But the Media Mail choice does not show at all. The First Class choice is much higher than what the buyer paid, so I would be loosing money on the deal.

·2 years agoPlease be sure to understand for the future: ebay shipping at time of sale is directly linked to the category you listed in. There is no up front check, there should be, for this. As was suggested, you will have to go directly to the USPS branch & purchase postage or use another shipping service to purchase postage through.
Taxation & final sale fees also apply within this manner so, be certain to use the right category ^^

·2 years agoThe more frustrating unstated concern is that eBay allows you to select MM when listing, then rug pulls you when it's time to ship.

·2 years agoProbably because you didn't list the item as a BOOK under the BOOKS category.
You have it listed under Collectibles > Religion & Spirituality > Christianity > Other Christian Items
I'm just guessing if it was under BOOKS you wouldn't have had an issue??

·2 years agoBuy the shipping label from the post office (MM is same price online and at retail) or from pirateship.com @vilkau . There's nothing you can do post-sale to activate Media Mail on a transaction listed in a category that's restricted.
Wherever you purchase postage, make sure you upload tracking to eBay.

·2 years agoLet's say that the buyer paid for USPS ground advantage. Is the seller allowed to opt for a less expensive shipping method under those circumstances?

·2 years agoeBay policy states that sellers must not downgrade the shipping service. eBay categorizes Ground Advantage as a "Standard" service but Media Mail is an "Economy" service, so that would be a downgrade and not allowed.
