ebay tracking numbers unreliable
i need to find out why this website tracking system is the way it is. i just recently started ordering trading cards for a “one piece†card game and ALL IF NOT MOST of the tracking numbers ebay gives have no legitamcy with the official USPS tracking website. even my most recent purchase of 2 days ago, shows invalid on the website. i even got cards that were delivered days ago but still has not updated in my purchases tab on my ebay account. this makes ebay to shop on very uncomfortable

·11 months agoThe sellers are using eBay Standard Envelope to offer you a cost-effective option. If you want traditional package service, that's much more expensive and requires different packing materials - you'd be looking at about $5-7 per card. You can always ask the sellers if they're willing to offer it if you're willing to pay for it.
eBay Standard Envelope (ESE) is a metered letter mail shipment with USPS so it does not receive traditional tracking scans like a package would, and the clerk at the PO counter cannot scan it or track it. The envelope is scanned by sorting machinery at distribution centers along the way.
With ESE, a 'delivered' scan generally occurs when the envelope arrives at the last USPS facility before it gets to the buyer; sometimes the buyer will receive their order a couple days after the delivered scan.
You can sign up for USPS Informed Delivery. You get an email every morning with images of letter mail you'll be receiving that day (ESE should be pictured with the letter mail), and the email will also show a list of package tracking numbers arriving that day.
