Ebay Tracking Not Updating
Hi all, Happy Friday! There is a little bug with the Ebay tracking system I want to mention. I wanted to give sellers a heads up.
I sent a package via Fedex on the 26th from my address in Florida to NJ. It arrived to NJ and is out for delivery today. The package has been scanned 8 times since I sent it. However, in Ebay when I click on the tracking number in my Seller Hub, it still shows "accepted". Over the last couple of days, it should have changed to "in transit" and today to "out for delivery".
The good news is, I can click on "show tracking details" and it shows the whole travel history and it reached NJ. However, the Ebay system still shows "accepted" at the top.
The package will be delivered today and I am afraid it won't update to delivered in the Ebay system. I don't want my metrics to get dinged.
Does anyone have any experience with this?

I understood the main idea of the new system. However, I think it may be misleading for people tracking their shipment on a cell phone. Most people will log in and only see the package was accepted and there is no "in transit" movement and start to panic. Some people won't click on the "show tracking details" blue link. They will just rely on the bar graph with the circles that are not filled in.
For accuracy purposes, once a package is sent and has been scanned multiple times by a carrier, the dot should fill in blue. That was always what I noticed over the last few years. This is the first time in 20 years that I see no movement on that bar graph and no dots filling in.
Hopefully, after the package is delivered today, it will say delivered in my Ebay account. I wish the tech team would change it back to how it was before.

Yes, it is confusing. The good news is that once it gets delivered it DOES show delivered on eBay. It is just the intermediate steps that are not clear on the process.

·3 years agoNot true! I had an item I sold and it got delivered by fedex yesterday and shows the picture of the package on the doorstep and the buyer said he received it. But eBay still shows it’s not even out for delivery! My funds are still on hold!
