Ebay Stander Envelope shipping for coins Issues
I had an issue with the lady at the post office. I had one coin to mail it was a quarter. I did every thing correct by the Ebay guide lines. She stated to me you need to add .44 cents for non machinable envelope. There was no way to explain to her about the ebay tracked envelope, It was her way only.
I went to another post office which was further away from my house that post office had no issues with the envelope but I should not have to go that far out of the way to mail when I am going by the guide lines.
Any other thoughts comments or suggestions on how to make this issue work.

A non-machinable envelope is one that is too stiff or bumpy to make it through the USPS high speed sorting equipment. Seasoned postal clerks know which types of envelopes will make it through that machinery, whereas a new clerk might not. USPS has different machinery in different hubs, so the acceptability may differ.
If the letter jams and gets kicked by the machinery, it will not get scanned.
Here are two different systems, one with flippers and belts, and one with spindles and belts:
If you used the recommended flexible and lightweight card stock mailer for a single quarter, it should get through. The flexibility of the mailer should be no stiffer than the card stock in a USPS priority letter.

·2 years agoYour first mistake was taking your item to the counter, there's no need and the outcome you got was typical, arguing with a counter person who has no idea what ESE is
Just put your item in the outgoing mail slot, if you have a Post Office that has a "Metered Mail" slot put it in that one, ESE is considered metered mail
My little P.O. doesn't even have a metered mail slot so I just drop them in the outgoing mail, been doing so for years with few problems

·2 years agoThe eBay standard envelope works for some people sometimes.
Let's hope it doesn't get returned to you or worse .44 cents postage due to the buyer.
And let's hope it shows some kind of tracking.
Hoping if there is no tracking showing up on the buyer's side they are an honest people and don't say they never received the item.
