ebay Standard Envelope Setup Problem

I just spent the better part of the past 24 hours trying to get ebay's csr's to solve a setup problem with standard envelope shipping. The conclusion was that I can't use it in the Lincoln Cent category. I told the csr that there are hundreds of listings in that category that use the standard envelope shipping & then I hung up.

I was trying to change the thickness to 0.25 & it would not accept that. After I clicked outside the box it automatically changed to 0.3 & I still couldn't add standard envelope shipping. I would choose it & it would appear momentarily & then disappear from the listing setup page. The weight is 2 ounces & envelope size 7x5 & probably thinner than 0.25 so it is well within the standard envelope shipping limits. I know how bad ebay's customer service can be but I had to try because sometimes I do get someone that knows what to do.

If anyone can solve this please do.

I found out from a csr that knew what to do that my problem is being caused by a system wide glitch ebay didn't know about. It is supposed to be fixed in 48 hours. If it is I won't post it.

Don't enter a fraction of an inch -- just enter the full 1 inch --for example "7 x 5 x 1".

(Yeah, I know -- that looks wrong. But that's how it works.)

And make sure that you click on the disclaimer which permits you to choose the eBay Standard Envelope (ESE).

You should be good to go then.

The disclaimer that pops up when you click on the eBay Standard Envelope shipping option, warning that the ESE is only to be used for specific items on the ESE categories list.

Hate to sound like a idjit, but it can't be helped so I must ask

Is it required in the ebay listing form to submit weight & measurements?

I use a third party listing site (inkfrog) & I haven't used ebay's for a couple decades

I've shipped via ESE for several years and have never had to enter weight & measurements but I don't know if that's because of the offsite listing tool I use or not which is why I ask

If weight & measurements are not required on the ebay listing form, try not entering any, I guess

No, pretty sure w/d is only needed for calculated shipping on the listing form regardless of service. Dimensions are not required for ESE even on the buy label page, the weight just needs to be 1-3oz. I have the dims blank on several of my templates and they default to 1x1x1 on the buy label form and I leave that unchanged.
