eBay Standard Envelope - Buyer Requested refund before 30 days
Hello.
I shipped a card out to a customer on 12/20/22 and it has not yet been delivered. The buyer requested a refund which I am happy to process but since it has not yet been 30 days, I can’t file a claim just yet.
I worry that I will process a refund and then the card will be delivered before the 30 day period. If that is the case, will I still be able to file a claim to get the money back? I know there isn’t a way at for the buyer to reverse a refund so I am just trying to figure out how to best proceed.
Thank you in advance.

·3 years agoIf the buyer opened an item not received then you refund. If the buyer receives the item after you issue the refund. There’s nothing you can do.
No there isn’t a claim to file to get your money back. Sorry, it is what it is.

·3 years agoWhat date was shown on the listing to the customer. 1 day past the last date, you should refund. You won't be able to file until 30 days past and yes, it could wind up delivering before the 30 but after the refund. Just the nature of the business, not much you can do unless buyer is willing to then 'pay you back'.
Not much different than usps using Priority-you cannot file for 21 days of a 'lost' package, but it listing showed the buyer was to receive in 4 days, you would also be refunding them should then want it, and then hope it doesn't 'eventually' deliver.
Know that this is not normal- 12 years and 20,000+ packages I've sent- it has NEVER happened (lost and not delivered).

·1 year agoOld post, but what I don’t understand is as you claim you’ve never had the package not eventually be delivered then why would you refund knowing they’ll still receive the package within the USPS timeframes? I think we’re all basically screwed due to eBay’s delivery dates shown to buyers even though it says estimated they are not setting buyer expectations properly by stating USPS requires X amount of days before a package is considered lost.
