Ebay standard envelope

Hey everyone,
I sell mostly trading cards, although I plan to sell a bunch of old anime figurines soon once I figure out shipping better.
I have a bunch of 6x9 polymailers for TCG. Do these qualify for the ebay standard envelope? If not, does anyone have a cheap option? my shipping costs are about 5.50 for domestic with ground advantage, I saw usps has a business account thing to get cheap/free labels and they can offer lower shipping costs if I start selling more regularly. I've heard of pirate ship and other methods. Any tips/criticisms are appreciated.

·10 months agoAnime Figurines cannot be shipped as letters. ESE is a letter mail service. That's out.
The figures must be shipped as packages and a polymailer offers zero protection so I hope you plan to wrap the figurines well (bubble wrap, cardboard sleeve, then put in a polymailer). Ground Advantage will be the least expensive option available. Prices on PirateShip are not cheaper than eBay for Ground Advantage.
You may want to lot up the figurines to offset the cost of shipping individually - sell small bundles of 3-4. Or you can offer buyers a discount like $x ship for the first item and $y for each additional or free ship once the buyer purchases Z or more. Lots of options here.

Additionally, the aspect ratio (length divided by height) for an eBay Standard Envelope must be between 1.3 and 2.5. (i.e. no square envelopes)
Regular envelopes work fine, or you can find slightly thicker ones if you want some extra protection. Just make sure it's not too thick that it won't make through the sorting machines. There are envelopes you can buy sold specifically for use as ESE, I bought a 30 pack on Amazon for $10 but you can probably find better deals.

Do NOT use 6 X 9 poly-mailers with the eBay Standard Envelope (ESE) mailing label -- the post office considers all poly bags as "packages," and your trading cards will be returned to you marked "insufficient postage" -- or (worst case) delivered to your buyers marked "postage due".
The ESE can only be purchased through eBay -- it cannot be purchased through USPS, or any other postal service, such as PirateShip -- it is an exclusive eBay service.
If you purchase your USPS Ground Advantage labels directly through eBay (rather than at the post office), you will be getting the commercial postal discount, which will save you bundles of money.
To receive a larger USPS business discount, you will need to sell huge quantities of packages each day -- and it sounds as if your business is too small to qualify for that discount.
