Ebay Standard Envelop
I'm really confused to why I can use the ebay standard envelope rate for my artist trading cards that are prints but my original ones won't give me that option. Also I sell note cards and I can't get that option to work there as well? Also does anyone know why bookmarks are excluded from standard envelope rate? Thanks in advance.

·1 year agoI find it very interesting that having Trading Card in the title allows you to get ESE even in the Art Print category. Shows it's not completely category reliant.
IMO it's a great service. If your items get delivered reliably using a stamped envelope, they will go just the same with ESE but with some tracking.
I will agree with James on upping price and switching to free shipping since your cost is fixed. Gives a slight search boost and people just like 'free'. Also makes combined shipping WAY easier.

·1 year agoIt has to do with the category you put your items in.
If you did something like 'original trading cards' that might work...'key words is 'trading cards'.
But I don't think you're missing much with using ESE...stamps totally .73 works for you I am sure as it works for me.
Buyers who purchase our items prefer stamps(for the beauty of them)...not a metered enveloped label.
Our buyers prefer that special touch on the outside of the envelope...real stamps.
And usually the forever stamp(.73) will get to the buyer quicker than something with tracking(ESE).
Our buyers don't expect tracking for anything under 20 dollars.
One suggestion...I would raise item cost and do free shipping domestically...to see if you get more buyers...can't hurt. Buyers like to see 'free' in an item for sale. Maybe try it on a few items.
Otherwise, you items are cool and you have the right business plan.

Hope you make-out ok and don't get screwed.
There is a science to it.... All I know is I'll never again offer free shipping, unless I figure-out buying shipping labels outside of eBay. Long story..... and not relative to envelope size items. Just saying.

·1 year agoThe option for ESE exists for selected categories, and items valued under $20.
It is a crummy service, highly dependent on how items are packaged, the choice of categories is based on what some Ebay employee thinks will have few items which will not qualify.
If you need the low cost service, you need to consider whether your items are suitable for online selling.

I don't need the service and I actually sell very well here. My competitors do this to offer free or low cost shipping so I'm stuck with it. But thanks for your input.
