eBay Shipping Supplies - Compostable Polymailers
eBay shipping supplies store recently switched from standard polymailers to compostable polymailers. Got a shipment of them this week, bought with my store supply coupon, and here's the verdict:
They are a bit lighter weight and more flexible than the original, but they are just as sturdy after performing a tear test. They're thicker than most compostable polymailers I've purchased from other brands and they don't have that "crunchy" aspect some of the other compostable options have.
Bottom line: this is a good change and I appreciate the eco-friendly option.

Supply coupons vary in amount based on store level; they are available to Basic and above Store subscribers. One coupon is issued each quarter - it does not carry over and it has to be used in a single purchase.
Starter Stores do not receive a shipping supply coupon.

·2 years agoI wonder how long they will take to break down. I bought some compostable doggy waste bags and totally forgot about them. They were probably 'lost' for about 3 years and when I found them and went to use them my hand went right through the bag. Thank goodness it was an empty bag! ðŸ˜

OP2 years agoGood question - I don't know. I blow through shipping supplies pretty quickly so I don't think I'll ever find out. I'd say they're thick enough to last quite a while though.
The only eco-friendly shipping supply I've ever had real problems with is bubble wrap. The 2 options I tried crumbled and fell apart after just a couple months. Bubble wrap is too important (and too expensive!) to deal with that.

·2 years agoNot long, they also can’t take heat or cold without losing their integrity. They will literally fall apart.

·2 years agoI don't know about those mailers. However, the compostable packing peanuts make great mouse feed. I would keep those in a sealed container.
