ebay shipping label price issue

Has anybody else had problems with the ebay shipping prices? I estimate box weight and size for my listings. For about a month now, when I go to put the actual shipping weight and box size in the price is more that what the seller paid. For example, I put a weight of 3 lbs and box size as 12x10x4 price was charged to buyer as $5.90. The actual size was 1 lb 12 oz and box size of 10x8x4 and I was charged $6.68. Smaller box and less weight but yet the shipping was more. This has been happening repeatedly. Does anyone have any insight as to what is going on?

·2 weeks agoI suggest that you stop estimating the weight and box size and use the actual box size (Measured - not what is written on the box.), and weight, and round up on both of them. So a Package weighing 1.7 Lbs is 2 lbs, and a box measuring 9 1/4 inches by 6 1/3 inches by 11 1/2 inches is 12 x 10 x 7.
Estimating box size and weight - never works out for a seller.

OP2 weeks agoI already measure up just to cover the weight of the box plus shipping material. My problem is the larger package size and weight was less shipping than the actual shipping amount was.

As of July 12, it is cheaper to ship a Ground Advantage item weighing over 3 pounds, than it cost to ship the same package weighing 2 pounds or less.
It doesn't make any logical sense -- but that's USPS, right?

None of us knows why it is less expensive to ship a 3 pound parcel by Ground Advantage, than it is to ship a parcel weighing less than 2 pounds -- it's just one of the BIZARRE changes made by USPS on July 12.
The cheapest method for shipping your package weighing less than 2 pounds, is to over-pack your item, until the package actually weighs over 3 pounds.
And, so far as I know, nobody has created a "go-to" chart for shipping Ground Advantage, since USPS uses different Zones, (depending on your home ZIP Code), and rural ZIP Codes are getting hit big time with extra fees.
Hang in there -- USPS will probably change everything again within a few months. . ..
