·5 months agoI recently bought a $5 pair of headphones with "free shipping" for $10 on Amazon.
Free is just a shorthand way to say "included in the price". It's a semantics game.
If you don't feel you're getting enough value here, vote with your wallet and shop elsewhere. That's perfectly okay. But you won't find me writing angry letters about the prices at Erewhon while I'm shopping at Aldi.

·5 months agoYep, understood that my free shipping with my prime account is just delivery included, but the delivery costs are almost always much lower. I can buy something for less than $1 and have it delivered tomorrow morning, without any extra fee. eBay sellers can’t do that for me.

·5 months agoThey don’t get enough credit for how good they are at sourcing. Amazon is a huge customer of my “real job” company. They do a good job at pricing and exclusive products. They move a huge volume of product where they choose to play.

·5 months agoYou don’t need a prime account for free shipping. But, I think the trick is that you need to order enough things at once to qualify.

·5 months agoThe carrier is who charges for international shipping not Ebay. Ebay is the selling platform. You are still paying Amazon for shipping cost. It's not "Free." If it costs too much to purchase an item on Ebay then do not buy. There really isn't much anyone here can do about it. You pay what is charged to you.

·5 months agoAmazon shipping is NOT free. While it states free shipping their shipping costs are built into their prices.

eBay is a site of thousands of sellers and all the sellers ship their own items.
eBay ships nothing.
EIS - eBay international shipping is a program used by many sellers to facilitate the shipments outside the US.
Many sellers wouldnt bother with the hassle of international shipping without EIS.
Customs fees and shipping from the US to Canada are different than from Thailand to Canada.
As a buyer you are free to buy other places if you find cheaper service.
