Ebay seller refused to pick up item from post office after I sent back for refund got returned to me
Seller tried scamming me item not NEW I paid for a vinyl Garth brooks 120 bucks it’s new but the cover is all messed up and didn’t post all that, and a punch hole on corner ? Wasn’t impressed at all! She agreed me sending back for a refund, I tell her I’m having her sign for item when she receives it, she was ok with it , DONT TRUST ANYONE ! I gave her tracking she knew what day it was being delivered I paid 2 day shipping+signature she wasn’t home so it went to post office, I emailed her to please pick item up so I can get refunded, she ignored emails ! Item sat there she refused to pick it up , after she’s known it was at her post office a week now she emails me and had enough nerve to tell me to open a refund claim with eBay said SHE felt like I was scamming her? HOW ? I returned it with my own money? Even tho it’s at her PO? So I opened a claim, I waited until they say eBay can step in , I called eBay on Valentine’s Day, gave them tracking number to prove she’s ignoring to pick it , ebay refunded me right away , so jan 30th to feb 14? Now it’s feb 24th and it’s being sent back to me cause she refuses to pick it up they tried delivering to her house again on February 22, not home, so here’s my question : when I receive item back do I contact eBay or just keep it? Due to seller being immature not picking it up not being home? She’s had many chances to pick up her item and wasn’t home twice as they tried to deliver it! I got refunded and now I’m going to receive item back? I shouldn’t have to waste my time sending it back to her again! I left her a bad review she left a comment saying she felt like I was scamming her LMFAO then changed ebay name on her account? Hum ! Seriously ALWAYS do a signature when returning an item !

The first reply by @mtgraves7984 , explained the hole in the cover. Promos used to be handed out by record companies like candy to radio stations and some record shop owners. While the seller's description was lacking, the photos do show the hole and some damage to the edges of the cover, including some corner warping, a common problem with long stored shrink wrapped vinyl covers. Another issue is trying to photograph anything still wrapped in its shrink wrap, because of its reflective nature.
If there was printing, color fading or other issues with the cover, it was probably selected to be a promo because of that. Promos were always pulled from the first pressings put out, and if there was a printing issue with the cover it was probably corrected later for records meant for sale. I used to work at a radio station and have many promo albums and a few had image and printing issues.

Thanks, Muddy. Too late to edit, I realized that I meant to type 'Promos', not "Demos". The two are very different creatures. Certain brain glitches I credit to "working on the fringes of Country Music", too. I also love me some Willie. 🤠🤣

·2 years agoIf you ever have a not as described return again, just go through the ebay return process. It will provide you the label and the refund without all the drama in between. You have protections so the signature wasn't needed.
I can just see the post coming soon by the seller on this one about how unfair they lost the item and the money.

·2 years agoAccording to your seller's comment they weren't able to pick up the package because they were out of town when you returned it, if that's true I don't understand how that's immature.
It's just my opinion, but putting signature required caused this problem and now you will benefit from it... but you claim she was ok with signature confirmation. I don't understand why she would be ok with that if she knew she was out of town, so either she is lying in her comment or you are lying that she was ok with it because both of you can't be telling the truth.
You're going to get everything so it's hard to believe she would willingly risk that. She should have tried to have her post office hold the item if she was truly out of town, and if she wasn't then I don't understand why she would opt to lose the item and still have to refund.

If the seller wanted it back, they should have picked it up.

Refusing to pick up usually means you win. Doesn't matter if she was on vacation or whatever.
I just can't believe a record going back and forth and back and forth it hasn't broken yet.
This is going to be a great story to tell at dinnertime to friends.

I'll take a shot at a couple of your points.
"I got refunded and now I’m going to receive item back?" - Yes you are and this time you keep it.
"... and a punch hole on corner ?" - That usually means that you got an Artist Demo. New (if sealed), but a Demo.
The worst part of your story is that you used your money to return an item 'Not as Described'... that was on your seller. Honestly, I'd sit back and enjoy the free Garth and the pleasure of knowing it's a Demo, which is rarer.
ETA: Years ago, I made TRS in 90 days, selling free Demos that I received while working on the fringes of Country Music. Oddly enough, back then my store was named "mtgravesandfriendsinlowplaces". 🤠Love me some Garth.
