eBay Red Flag: Delivered 3 Days BEFORE Shipped? Canada to MD Scam?
On January 7, 2026, I received an eBay email notifying that my purchased item was shipped from Canada to my Maryland address, with estimated delivery Fri, Jan 23–Wed, Feb 11. The email's "Track Package" button linked to eBay Order Details showing shipped on Jan 7 but arrived Jan 4—impossible, 3 days before shipped!
Immediately checked FedEx with provided tracking: Not linked to my MD address/name; proof-of-delivery photo showed stranger's porch. FedEx advised requesting seller's shipping label copy from their account.
Contacted seller multiple times: Ignores requests, replies only "TRACKING DELIVERED" repeatedly.
Escalated to eBay—still unresolved. Is this a scam? Next steps?

·8 months agothere was a "glitch" with usps labels last year where some labels/tracking number were being "recycled" by accident in the system effectively resulting in the same scenario as yours. I have not heard of it happening with fedex, but the tracking details should provide more validity, i.e. when/where was the original acceptance scan, where did it get scanned along the way, etc.
It could be a scam or might not be, I would try better communication with the seller, look at there feedback and sales that is generally the dead giveaway if it is fraud or not.
then proceed accordingly with ebay customer service.

OP8 months agoAgree with with. Just wanted not to harm the seller in case it's an earnest mistake or the system glitch. I just counted 7 messages I sent them, clearly explaining the situation and mentioning I didn't want to leave bad feedback if they'd just communicate and clarify what happened. I got 3 responses—all identical: "package delivered" plus the same tracking link. Obviously, I'm proceeding with negative feedback and disputing the charge. If they don't care, why should I?
