eBay offers no option to combine shipping on accepted offers - charges fees on incorrect shipping.
I just made offers on half a dozen items and communicated to the seller that I would like combine shipping.
They would all be able to fit into one envelope for less than $20, yet eBay automatically charged around twice that by putting through each accepted offer individually.
The seller wants to combine shipping, I want to combine shipping, but ebays automatic charging system didn’t recognize that they were all purchased by the same person and neither the seller nor myself were given an option to combine shipping.
If the seller does a partial refund, eBay will still keep the fees on the incorrect amount.
This seems like it is intentionally set up to defraud sellers by creating inflated shipping that must be refunded.
Is there can option to combine shipping that we are missing on items when offers are accepted?

If there is such a statement, it's not overt, and it's not something anyone wants — which is exactly the issue. No one wants the affront to combined shipping. It's stupid, bad business, and outright wasteful.

·3 years agoI have to do refunds for shipping all the time because International Buyers cannot combine items and send me an email for shipping cost total. It's rather easy for me as a seller to refund shipping cost.

OP3 years agoAre you given refunds by eBay on their final value fees after a partial refund?
I was told that they do not and was provided a link to a policy that said fees weren’t revised for partial refunds.
I’ve been getting contradictory answers.

·3 years agoYes, you do get FVF refunds on partial refunds nowadays. This was changed pretty recently.
If the seller accepted the offers but you haven't paid yet, the seller should be able to send you an invoice and adjust the shipping.

OP3 years agoThe payment was done automatically by eBay when the seller accepted my offers.
Five items were ‘buy it now’ with ‘best offer’ and I am bidding on an additional site item.
I made offers on the five items sand requested combine shipping.

·3 years agoApparently you've been opted in to their new program where buyers have to provide a payment source before making offers.
The only way now is for the seller to issue a shipping discount refund.

·3 years agoA better way to do it would have been their original idea of leaving the item active and for sale until an accepted offer was actually paid for, but form what I gather, when they tried that there were too many "unhappy buyers" who accepted the offer but someone else bough it while they were "thinking" about paying.

·3 years ago...i was wondering why so many buyers we're paying before I could send them a combined invoice. buyers, who have made offers, have been sending me angry mails yelling at me because I'm charging them double shipping where my listing says there's a shipping discount for multiple purchases. what a stupid change

What do you mean by buyers not being able to combine items? Are you saying that only international buyers cannot request a total in the cart?
You can set up international shipping rules.

·3 years agoInternational Buyers cannot combine items in their shipping cart and ask for an invoice. There is no way we can set that up in International shipping rules.

·3 years agoYou can set up separate shipping rules for US buyers and for international buyers. On some of my items I have a rule for Canadian buyers and a rule for US buyers. You just have to associate that rule under the domestic or international shipping section of the listing page.
If your US buyers can request a total in the cart than international buyers should be able to as well. If you want to test, it I'm in Canada so I can put a couple of your items in my cart and try requesting a total. If it works though that commits me to buy them so I will request a cancellation.

·3 years agoBest Offers are for the item only, per ebay policy and a notice you saw before purchase, shipping is not negotiable when Best Offer is used.
Seller can still shipped together by combining in the shipping center, but shipping cost is not adjustable. Best seller can do now is a partial refund. Seller will get a prorated fee credit.

OP3 years agoI was told that fees are non refundable on a partial refund. I just dealt with this on an item I sold. Is this not correct?

·3 years agoIn the past only a full refund offered a fee credit, but now, other than the .30cent order charge, if ebay does not have to be involved, fees are credited on a partial refund.
