Ebay is trying to ruin my day…
It is an international shipping issue: shipped using ebay’s service to their hub and it shows as deliver to the hub. But the ETA for delivery to buyer was estimated by ebay to be 5/30. Regardless of that ebay allowed the buyer to open ‘not delivered’ case today (5/29) and ruled in his favor (at my expense). Now they about to charge me full amount of the sale and the item is still in transit to the buyer. I had opened a dispute but so dar the ebay is silent. Lets see what happens. If you know what else I need to do please let me know.

EIS does this:
COVERS you 100%.
The 'verbiage' might say 'this or that' but know 2 things:
1.) There is NO DATE that is shown to an 'international buyer' as the DATE is WHENEVER customs feels like 'releasing
2.) EIS covers YOU, as the SELLER- so if there is an issue, EIS takes over and Sellers do NOT lose the sale (by refund).
A seller MAY have 'funds' held with the "30 day hold system"- but that is for New Sellers (and anyone that has been here for 100 years but hasn't sold ANYTHING the past 90 days!!)

I know all this. I read the rules. And I am not new to ebay. Here are the screenshots of the emails I got from ebay so looks like they did not know the rules initially.

·2 years agoIt is very odd that the case was opened earlier and even odder that it was decided the same day. If you used EIS then ebay should be responsible for the refund. Did they say that your account would be charged?
Which item is it and do you know where the buyer is located? If it was for the thermostat controller and the buyer was in the UK then you may have used a different program rather than the EIS to ship,

OP2 years agoThe buyer is in HK. And yes, eBay put a hold on my funds initially and then posted a charge. But I am happy to report that I won the appeal: customer service representative reversed the charge and send me a message ‘congratulating me on my win’. So the net result: the buyer will eventually get a free product. To me looks the the case opening and review process is significantly flawed. The ebay probably just grants a refund w/o any human looking into the matter. Maybe they have a monetary threshold that gets a real person involved. Not sure. Just guessing. The message did not explain to me why they initially sided with the buyer who has 0 rating over me with a perfect ratings, etc. This was a very clear case in my mind and when buyer opened it I was sure it will be dismissed. Again, I am happy I am no longer liable for anything (cause I did not do anything wrong) but the process can be better for sure.

·2 years agoMy buyer did put in an "item not received" dispute (rightly so), and eBay put a hold on my account. They resolved it within about an hour. I was waiting in the customer service chat when I got a message saying they were refunding my buyer but not from my funds. That's great; neither of us should lose money over eBay's shipping fiasco. However, the item was rare and possibly irreplaceable, and I'd much rather they actually shipped it, refund or no.

OP2 years agoMine is at the hub for 5 days and the seller did not even bother to reach out to me…. Not sure why ebay even allowed him to open the case given they see the item is still in shipping. Really bad move on ebay part.

·2 years agoI'm not sure there's much human thought going into how they handle things. I just got off the phone with customer service (after an hour of wrangling with their AI, trying to find a way to contact them!), and they were professional and tried to be helpful, but they had no information about the hub. They didn't even seem to be familiar with eBay's own international shipping system.
I'm baffled at it taking 12 days to be logged into the hub. I've never seen a shipment sit more than a couple of days. So frustrating. I can't understand why eBay would charge you for a transaction when they've clearly caused the issue. Please let me know if they resolve this.

·2 years agoI'm having a similar issue, and I'm worried it will turn into a dispute. The item has been sitting at the hub for 19 days, with no sign of movement. After it was delivered to the hub, it somehow took 12 days to be marked "Item arrived at hub." My customer is emailing every couple of days, clearly frustrated, and I don't know what I can do. Any help out there??
